I was in discussion in the X5 group, and some suggested I post in the M550 group as well since I'll likely get different opinions from each passionate group lol.

Who's owned both with dynamic handling package and what did you like or dislike about each one as far as handling and performance? Was there really that much difference in terms of handling and or performance between the 2?

Some say not as much as you'd think.

Thoughts?

i dont know if this helps any but i had a 2022 m340ix with the basic suspension and when i got my 2022 m550, it feels better on the road and handles better.

I’ve driven an m340 with standard suspension and thought it handled fairly well so that’s a positive then if m550 is better for a much larger car.

in the 550 the DHP option is floaty and bouncy but still very comfortable. i have no issues with it. very smooth.

in the X5 DHP with air suspension is the holy grail. perfect. no more floaty and bouncy. smooth as riding in a cloud.

handling wise you can't chuck the X5 into a corner like a fling toy but who does that with a big SUV anyway. i'd have the X5 with DHP and air suspension over the 550 unless you want the fastest, the sedan is quicker and a tad more responsive (lighter).

X5 with DHP does not have air suspension. They are mutually exclusive options, you can order one or the other but not both. The X7 does offer DHP + Air.

Hmm I see. I definitely tested the air suspension. It was supreme.
