BMW OEM Wipers UK
Now, this is going to sound a bit daft… but I’ve just realised the UK BMW parts site and Official eBay store only seem to sell left hand drive wipers, and I’d bought them not noticing and assuming the UK sites would be selling UK spec parts?!
They fitted fine and it’s only when seeing an email about the sale that I noticed in the long string in the title a “LHD” and thought, crap - that means left hand drive doesn’t it. Just been outside and compared them to the old wipers and yea… they seem to be upside down in comparison 🤣 Does anyone know why they’d only be stocking LHD wipers in the UK - there must be tons of people using them not realising! This moves into my question - does it maybe not matter that they’re upside down, could BMW UK parts site stock them because they’re technically fine? This doesn’t feel right, because all the little plastic parts seem to be moulded to have a curve going a certain direction and they’re upside down compared to the originals… My second question - can anyone in the UK recommend a good set of compatible wipers or know the part number for the OEM RHD wipers - I can’t seem to find their existence in my searches 🤷 Thanks! |

I believe bmw use Bosch Aerotwin, Valeo Silencio, or Denso Hybrid as their suppliers.
Just get a set from ECP, I have Bosch but don’t use my G31 in the rain ![]()

I only use BMW OEM which i believe are made by Siemens. They last for ages. 2nd pair on an 8 yr old car. No squeals etc.
On return to my garage I'll look up the part number for you if you are not sorted. AFAIK they have matched the original fits in function and appearance. Ibuy when there is a sale on so its sometime since they were bought |

Thanks Dephead!
It's so strange that I can only seem to find the OEM BMW ones on the UK BMW direct website/eBay store... but they're all left hand drive. I can even see on the shipping notes inside the box the BMW Germany sent all these wipers to the BMW UK store... like, why would anyone in the UK have use for them (except the handful of people with imports)?? This is when you realise that yours are on upside down too ![]() |
