Route 66 Main Street vs. Easy Street
Had to go with a Route 66 Main St as that's all that was available for my 18' M550xi with 60k miles. After reading everything I could get my hands on and calling Route 66 direct. I feel that the Main Street is fairly comprehensive. BUT....curious as to what others have experienced or opinions. Wish I could've gotten the Easy Street and certainly would've paid up for it but I got what was available. Miles and time (36x36) are fine for me as I just don't drive that much and likely won't be keeping this car for more than 2-3 more years. But wondering what I could get stuck with.
Turbos, cooling system, front control arms, transmission, AWD transfer cases, engine, EEP, I know some stuff isn't covered but just curios as to others experience with the Main Street. |

I called Alco Federal Credit Union in Rochester, NY and they said you can only buy a Route 66 from them if your car loan is through them AND you bought the extended at the time of loan issuance. I’ve not heard this from anyone in these forums. It’s always mentioned as a product you can buy anytime with no such requirements.

I’m so frustrated with this Route 66 eligibility. So far I’ve called Alco and First Source Federal Credit Unions. Per Route 66, these are the credit unions closest to where I live. Both require you to have your vehicle loan through them (I don’t), and First Source only serves certain counties (not mine). Does anyone know of a Route 66 issuer anywhere in the country that will sell a policy without client or residence requirements?

Others can chime in on which ones. I looked into Route 66 via PenFed, but didn’t pick it up as at the time they excluded PHEVs. Lots of forum members have them though so someone will chime in soon. |

It took about 8 weeks total but she helped me purchase for my car. I had to open a checking account but there was no cost involved in that part. |
