Open recall

In my BMW app, it tells me my G80 has an open recall.

But, when I put my VIN in the BMW recall page, nothing comes up.

Anyone have info on this? Do they want to steal the carbon fiber roof, or take out my passenger lumbar controller?

You should probably call you service center. They would tell you more especially if you don't see it

They want your engine. In order to keep selling cars they now need to repurpose engines from those cars already out in the wild.

I'm not able to find a place in my BMW app that looks anything like the screenshot you shared (to look up for my own car). When was your car built?

June 2022. Check your financial services section of the website. That's how I found mine.

I just missed a call from my dealership service center (was in a meeting). They left a message saying that my car is overdue for an important service. Is this it?

Seems to be the only recall on mine, so if yours is if a similar vintage, then I'd assume so.

B840621 is the TSB number, but I don't know how to look these up publicly.

Was told that the update can be performed when I next bring the car in for service.

I never got the notice for an open recall - but did just take her in for a regular oil change and they notified me of this. Ended up pushed to 07/2022.45 which is newer than I think any version I've seen anyone else report? Not that I'm the only one with this version, just that I haven't seen it mentioned.

Still no idea what the recall is/was...but glad to finally have my first software upgrade in almost 12 months of ownership, proving that such things do in fact exist...can't really tell much difference aside from having *some* but not all of my Bimmercoding wiped out. For example, the B&W stereo coding was reset, but the "5 flash" turn signal setting was not. Who knows. Need to doublecheck my poor-man's headlight coding.

I finally did mine on Monday. I saw no change.

If I don't have coffee I do feel a delay in shifting

. I'm 6MT.

Otherwise nothing I can surmise. Car continues to feel great and run flawlessly.

The only thing I did was to drive it home so I could get in my Focus and take her in for an oil change too...so unfortunately not enough experience to notice. But felt normal on the way home, for what those 2-3 miles are worth.
