Question Do G30s qualify for $199 Ultimate Care Oil Change?

I have a 2017 G30. It’s been more than 60 months, but only have 54K miles.

BMW offers a $199 Prepaid 3-yr Unlimited mileage oil change.
https://bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare

Fine Print:
3 YEARS PREPAID FOR $199
The BMW Ultimate Care Oil Services plan is available to all vehicles older than 60 months OR with at least 60,000 miles. This maintenance plan can be purchased as soon as the 1st day following the 60-month period or as soon as the car reaches 60,000 miles.

I went to my service advisor at the dealership and they told me this special is only for E and F-series. And because my car is a G-platform vehicle, it does not qualify for this special. Is this true? Or are they wrong?

Every BMW qualifies that is over 5 years old or over 60K miles (well certain really old models are excluded but I believe those are over 20years old).

The 3Y/60K mile window is likely to give dealers some room to still try and sell ultimate care +

You can buy it from any dealership so I’d reach out to another. Steve Thomas BMW on the forum has been a good reason for members.

I've reached out to Christine at Steve Thomas. Super helpful.

The fine print says 60 months not 36. and the oil change, i believe, is just ultimate care without the ‘+’. I think ultimate care + is for everything with brake pads, wiper blades, oil change, etc….the whole works.

I just want the ultimate care oil change prepaid - 3 yr.

If it were me, I'd first plug my own car into the link you sent and see if it offers - or excludes - the plan for my car. Unless it clearly excludes it, I'd go back and ask to be shown in print where your car is excluded and start by saying either "I plugged in my car and it says I'm included" or "I've read BMW's materials and I see nothing that says my car is excluded."

Fine print gives TWO minimum requirements:

You appear to have met the 1st requirement (more than 60 months). But you do NOT meet the 2nd requirement of at least 60K miles...you only have 54K.

So I'd say, no....you do not meet the requirement for the $199 for 3 yrs...you are 6K miles short of a "happy meal".

They should qualify, no? The rule is OR and not AND. As such a car should qualify once it is more than 5 years old OR over 60K miles, whichever comes first.

Indeed, the BMW website says my MY2020 would qualify by mileage if I had 70K miles on it today.

I see your point...."and" vs "or". If I were the service writer and you made that point to me...I would concede and give you the $199 oil change.

Is there some sort of "discount" oil change price for a single change from a BMW dealer? If one only needs the annual oil change, this might not be a good deal. I'm not willing to bet I'll keep my car for 8 years.

I know one can go to any of the non-dealer sources, but I like the idea of a scan of my key for recalls, updates, etc.

This is a best deal. A single change under value service is generally $99. So this is sort of a buy 2 get 1 deal if you prepay. As you’re getting 3 changes minimum. At $63/change for 3 changes. Also better than any Indy using proper oil.

Just an FYI (so some won’t be disappointed)…the “single” value service oil changes cost more for V8s vs the 4 & 6 cylinder. For example, my F15 & F06 both have the N63TU engine and if I go to the website and input my model/model year…the BMW Value Service single oil change is $129.

So if planning to keep your V8 for more than 3 years..the $199 plan can be a good deal.

One can see what your local BMW dealerships charge are…or if your vehicle qualifies by checking this site and inputting your data: https://bmwusaservice.com/valueservice
