Poor Mans M550

How about these for non standard options:

668M Rims
Parking Assist Package (Like the surround cameras).
Maybe Nappa Leather

I think I would take DHP over the Driver Assist packages (if I were to add, but roads here are pretty flat).

Anyone else order this car with minimal specs? The standard features seem to be better than my last BMW (E92 ZCP). Any features that you really enjoy? Love the V8 sound!

Buying or leasing? If leasing, order whatever you want. If buying and thinking at all about resale, at least add Driving Assistance Package (for the head-up display), Dynamic Digital Instrument Cluster, Executive Package (only because it is required for the instrument cluster), and maybe heated seats. That makes for a good value at well under $80k.

Leasing. I feel like driving assistant is something that can put you into bad habits with respect to checking your blind spot.

What features of DA are most important? I've read too that there is some rear vehicle stuff when pulling out in parking lots but am not sure if that is part of surround view or the DA feature (or neither).

For me the only must-have out of both DA packages is the head up display. The active cruise control with stop and go would be nice in the DA+ package, but the rest of the semi-autonomous stuff I can live without.

I agree and having not had the HUD in a vehicle yet I just don't know what I'm missing I can see it being useful for GPS and a friendly reminder of how fast you are going.

How about this digital display I've seen it and it's obviously a nice touch but how often are we looking at our dash when driving? BMW should have made this standard.

Adaptive Icon Lights , first and foremost comes first for me when it comes to making a special order
HUD is great too , you can live without it but once you have it you always wanna have it .In my perspective ,not a deal breaker though
Panoramic view, whatever you do make you get it ticked in the order sheet . It's even proven to be more useful than Adaptive Icon Lights to me .
At a touch of a button you can see if the side of the road is parking lot is clear when you want to get out of the parking place or you can see when approaching a 4 way road to see the cars or objects at the sides .It only works when the car is below a certain speed when you're in motion
Digital Gauge Cluster is a neat convenience and must-have for me too

Since you are leasing, I would throw in more options like ArchJR said.
For me, HUD and surround view are a must these days. HUD makes your life so much easier with navigating the car and Surround view great if you have lowered car with wheels and aerokit.
Oh, LED lighting package is a must too. Once you go LED, you can't go back.

I actually meant to choose less options if leasing, if that is what he wants. The great thing about leasing is that if one orders an unusual configuration - in this case lacking some expected luxuries and tech - there are no worries about finding a buyer down the road.

My must haves for any car I want are the HUD and active cruise control. But that is me and you can't get the active cruise control anymore as a standalone option, you must get the driving assistant plus and to get that you must get the driving assistance package. For me, those were good features but apparently not for you so it is very expensive to get the active cruise control.

But you can get the HUD as a standalone option. It keeps your eyes on the road at all times and can save you from speeding tickets. When I got my current car (new one is a week or so away from me) with a HUD I thought it would be a nice adult toy. Instead it has become a very useful daily feature.

I love hte HUD in my M3. But honestly quite often my polarized glasses wash it out during the day and I cannot see/use it anyway.

Its nice to have but I wouldn't call it a deal breaker.

I solved that problem. I wear progressive eyeglasses. I simply bought a pair of sunglasses with 80% tint but not polarized. They work great. They are just as good as polarized sun glasses and the HUD is perfectly clear, even if I am driving directly into the sun.
