Red Symbol Alert On Take Off * Advice*

2018 530I is my car I was on red light waiting to turn green, as soon as lifted off high beep came ( similar to red zone like getting to red zone on parking sensor) and a symbol of side of car in red came in dash and overhead display . no error or anything and went away in 1 minute. it wasn't the symbol of the front of car it was a image of a side of car and red. what could it be?

Sod collision warning. Presumably there was a car in front at right angles to you going left right or vice Versa.

I have had this twice in the 6 months I've had my car. It's to warm you of a car approaching from the side .

Checkout your manual it will be listed in there.

Yep, this is the very variable collision detection. I find sometimes it works, and sometimes (in the same situation) it doesn't work...

You can set the sensitivity in iDrive or there is the shortcut button next to the hazards switch by the centre vents.

yea the image is red and its a side view of a car... I know on highway when going fast behind a car it shows a red image of FRONT OF A CAR image.... but weird was that no car approaching on side?
