Emergency call system not available

I have the common emergency call system not available message, and had the battery changed in the TCU which unfortunately didn’t fix the issue. The techs have scanned the car and the TCU is throwing off an error which leads them to believe it needs to be replaced.

As i plan to run this car to the end of its life, I decided to code the error out (TCU is not a fundamental part of the car, and the placement and cost mean I don’t consider it worth it atm).

I coded this out via bimmercode, changing the following:

Melding_2099 to not active
St-ecal-timeout to not active
St_eca-alove to not active

This has cleared the code on the dash but car play has become unavailable. Is this expected behaviour if I code out these 3 things?

I have reverted the last 2 on that list to active and car play is available again. The error message has also stayed off but I had read that can reappear (time will tell…) but I’m trying to work out next steps if it comes back…
