Anyone getting OTA US map updates for 2021?

My last map update was V3 last fall, and haven’t received any updates this year.

If it's the same as the U.K., the ota updates are just small updates rather than the full map

I download the full map every quarter and presumably as a result in the 4 years I have had my car, I have only had 2 ota updates.

Are you downloading the full map to a usb drive and updating your satnav?

US can’t download full maps for some reason.

BMW in the US just reduced the number of regions from 12 or 13 to 4. I wonder if that caused the map update delays.

The west Europe one is just over 32GB in size

You can 1. wait for the OTA REGIONAL update to appear in your vehicle eventually; 2. download the FULL map pack for free from forums such as https://www.bimmerscene.com/Forum-North-America; or 3. download from online services like https://fsc.codes/product-category/map-downloads/. The cost is nominal--I paid 2 pounds (less than 3 USD) for the download link (all the other vendors charge $20+ for the same data) .
It can be applied to multiple vehicles, so long as the vehicle's FSC is still valid.

How do I update the map version on my 2020 M550? I went into the idrive and clicked "update" but nothing seems to happen. It looks like I'm running a very old map version (North America Live 2019-2 111031852.3.02, G20w20.4-1 NC, SC, VA, WV, DC 2020-4) considering BMW claims to be releasing updates 3x per yr.
