Aftermarket amp with Harmon system
I found a few threads that showed the possibility of adding aftermarket subs, I'm happy with the interior speakers (Harmon Kardon) so I wont be changing those for a while, but I'm missing my subs....
I'm an electrician by trade and I mention that because I have some concerns with this idea of adding my subs and the reason is my 2021 540i Xdrive has the 48V hybrid battery system. Does anyone know how beefy subwoofers will effect this system? In my previous truck I had (2) of these Kicker Q class subs and (2) Kicker CX600.1's installed, but the Nissan Titan trucks have a very beefy stock alternator and my head lights never even dimmed when these hit and they are loud and powerful. I also had a $450 XS AGM battery installed in the truck. I am leery of what will happen with adding these, will they be detrimental to the hybrid battery? I've only had the car for a day but on the infotainment screen it shows only 2/5 bars on the battery that's under the rear seats....will this fully charge? I don't know how long it sat from the original driver, she didn't drive much only 24k miles in 3 years. I have a 50 mile round trip commute to work, about 1 hour 15 min drive time there and back. If it wont be a problem has anyone used an LCI? Did you get a hiss or anything? Also this may be a silly question, if subs use a good portion of the battery capacity will that effect mileage, as far as I understand these hybrids are setup to help on fuel economy if I'm not totally mistaken. Pics of my setup and thanks in advance for any reply's. |
