iDrive screen blank after dead battery
I have a friend with a 2023 530i. She let her car sit for about a month and the battery went dead. She got it jump started using the post under the hood (I was not present for this) and now her iDrive screen is blank. The USB port also has no power. We tried resetting using the volume button and no luck. I also disconnected the battery for several minutes with no luck. My next thought was a fuse. I don’t have the manual to look at it but I had her look and she said it says to take it to the dealer to have fuses checked and it did not give the usual diagram of the fuse block. I am going to head over there in a few days but was hoping someone here may have some input. She has an appointment with the dealer next week but even though it is under warranty, they stated that there is a diagnostic fee that may not be fully covered by warranty and she will need to pay the $200+\hr fee out of pocket.
I would hate for her pay several hundred dollars for a blown fuse. Thoughts? |

If you have a multi-meter tool, you can easily test all the fuses without removing them using a continuity setting and probing the two exposed metal spots on the top of the fuse.
