G30 Seat movement

So my 2019 540i with the multi contour massaging and ventilated seats has this one problem (more like unwanted feature). Anytime transmission is in D or R, and I want to move my seat, it only lets me move any section a max of like 2cm and then I have to let go and move it more and so on. It’s really annoying. Also the seat memory buttons do same thing. In P I press “2” and everything goes to 2. If I press “2” and while in D it does nothing. I have to actually hold it and even then it only allows certain amount of movement and then I have to let go and keep holding it and repeat over and over again until everything reached “2”. This is very annoying and was wondering if there is anyway to code it out? For my Hu coding video in motion was very easy, I wonder if there is a solution similar to this? Btw this into affects driver side seat module. Passenger seat module works correctly if it’s in P or D.

I don't have an answer for you but FYI, this is to prevent accidentally pressing a memory setting that's not your driving position, which can get dangerous while you're driving.

Yea I know. I but I want it anyways. I like to sometimes tilt my drivers side mirror when parking in my tight garage, and I usually forget to press the 1 while my car is in park, so when I start driving again, the right mirror is in wrong spot and I only notice it once I am in D, and I have to then hold the "1" for the entire time until the mirror is back to its usual place.

If I’m understanding you correctly , are you using the memory positions 1&2 to configure the side mirror.
Unless I’m missing something here why do you just manually adjust the mirror using the toggle witch on the door ?

I would note that on my wife's 2014(!) 328xi, pushing the memory button once quickly has the seat move through its entire range to get to the correct setting. I can see that as being a problem (as noted above) if for example, I was driving and hit the button for my wife's position by mistake. I would be crushed against the steering wheel! But it sure is convenient when I am going to drive her car, as I just push it once from outside the car and it adjusts for me so I can get in comfortably. Recognizing the potential problem, BMW changed that so in my 2019 540xi, one has to hold the button depressed for it to move to a new position. --Bob

In all cars I've driven/owned, the seat memory function only does the "one touch" full movement if the car is in park/not moving. If the car is in D, R or moving, the memory button needs to be held and in some cars not even keeping it pressed will do the full range of movement.

As others have said, it's to avoid an accident if your second memory squishes you against the steering wheel or gets you too far away from the pedals.

What my wife and I tend to do is press the button as soon as we open the driver's door but before stepping in.

Sometimes I manually tilt down my drivers side mirror when parking in my garage. Then I forget to press "1" after I finish parking. Then When I get back to my car and start driving and I notice my mirror is tilted, I hate that I have to HOLD "1". Id rather it just let me press "1" and it does it fully. On my headunit I have Video in Motion coded, and the way it works is just by disabling speedlock. Is there a way to disable speedlock in the seat module?

If you're manually tilting down your mirror while backing up, shouldn't everything go back to place when you unlock the vehicle the next time you enter?

This is why there are driver profiles.

How do you make it so that it automatically puts everything back into "1" each time you get into the car?
