2 Phones?

2018 530i

Can you program 2 phones and/or make them user profile dependent?

Not sure I quite follow
With the technology pack you can have 2 phones connected at the same time. That's different form paired so with 2 phones connected you can receive calls from either of them
You specify which is the primary and this is the phone you make calls from

I don't believe this is ties to a key but is car specific.

It´s not tied to the key. The function is called "Extended Bluetooth", and can be activated via i.e. Bimmercode on cars that doesn´t have it.

But the 2nd microphone will still be missing so the passenger should speak towards the drivers microphone

Well, I had a G30 with only basic BT and my current G31 has the extended BT. Nobody in "the other end" has been able to spot a difference.

Mine is same, I've coded it long time ago but never tried it. It's good to know

I think the difference is simply that 2 phones can be used , ie paired AND available for use as opposed to just paired.

So for me I have 2 phones, personal and a work phone, both paired and listed as connected so I can receive a call from either and make outgoing from my personal ( have never tried outgoing from phone number 2 to date though)

So I think it's advantage is only if you want 2 phone a to be able to use

Not sure if both were to ring though. Perhaps need to try that!

The basic BT only allows one phone to be connected. So yes, the main difference is, that two phones can be connected at the same time
