Help Please! Coding Amber Sidemarkers Off
Hey All, I have a 2018 540i and am looking to code off the small amber sidemarkers in the front headlights using Bimmercode. I haven't found much online and thought I would post here to see if anyone has any experience/tips.
My friend was able to code these off in his F30 by going into each FLE module and setting the LM_ID_LT04 and LM04_Name values to '02_value' instead of '01_value'. When I looked in my G30 modules in expert mode, the values were already set to 02, and I'm a bit hesitant to start trial-and-error coding in expert mode. Any info would help. Thanks. |

Use E-Sys or Bimmercode expert mode on FLM modules and set values as per below.
FLM_43/44 (Front Light Modules): Disable sidemarker light -----3008 Led1 ----------LM_ID_LT04 ---------------01_value (default: 02_value) -----3008 Led1 ----------LM04_NAME ---------------01_value (default: 02_value) -----3004 LmmB ----------SIDEMRKLGT_IDX ---------------07_value (default: 12_value)

OP, do you mind posting photos after you manage this? I'd like to see the difference.

I coded FLMs to ECE when experimenting with anti-dazzle high beams. I wanted to figure out how to re-enable it on the ECE CAFD, but the parameters don't exist. At the end of the day, I figured out that the FLMs don't need to be coded to enable anti-dazzle high beams.

Here are some after pics. The codes that Frozen Fractals shared worked like a charm.

Eyebrows as DRL ?

Frozen Fractals, very interesting ! Would you know then how to set turn signal / eyebrows on a G30 working as DRL or Sidemarker ? I guess both changes are to be done in 3008 Led 1 LM08 and change the 7th byte in 3004 LmmB SIDEMRKLGT_Idx or in DRL_Idx ? Many thanks for you help ! |

When you’re turning the wheel to the left…are you standing still…and is your BMW left hand drive? If yes to both, then the light doesn’t turn to the left when standing still…adaptive lighting only turns to the left (on LHD vehicles) when a certain speed is obtained. This is to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

was hoping to get a wider field of light with high beam is on, but not burning it out too soon by having it on with dipped lights all the time |

02_value Dont remember the original value for 3rd code. At first, i kept first 2 codes at 02_value and made the 3rd one 07_value, but didn’t work, the side marks still on, so i changed first 2 codes to 01_value and 3rd one 07_value, the sidemarks turned off. But the high beam now is always on, not fully on, looks like i have some elemnta of high beam is always on even when the DRL only on |

Look at this. You have to configure the values accordingly to your setup. |
