Hi Everyone,

I recently messed with the coding to enable anti dazzle headlights using ProTool.
Everything went well and the systems working great, the only issue I have now is my instrument cluster shows the wrong car (G30 with G05 tail lights) when I open the doors or trunk.

Unfortunately, the head unit was the one module I didn’t backup, if anyone knows a fix, please let me know.

Says G30
The car shown in the head unit and instrument cluster normally is my car in the right color

Only when the doors/trunk/ hood is open this little guy with the wrong tail lights pops up

Default code the MGU if you want it back to stock.

I did, tried restoring my factory backup and even tried factory code from protool

Both show wrong tail lights but the cars body and wheels are correct


I checked other review videos on YouTube
This error seems to be on their screens too, I’m guessing iDrive bug or incorrect parameters from factory.

Sounds like you're out of luck. Not like LCI tail lights should really bother you that much lol.

Happened to me but it was only showing the wrong color which was easy to code. Was your vld coding successful? Did you just use the options from the menu or went into "expert" mode?

Hmmm so your cars picture in the instrument cluster when the door is open shows the right tail lights ?

For the color go to head unit, expert mode, search for vehicle color and change it there.

As for the Anti Dazzle Highbeams, I’m not sure about how it works from factory but I VO coded out 5AP and 8S4, then modified some parameters under the BDC and double checked KAFAS.

This is how it looks right now, for the LUTs I chose G05_laser_ECE as I have the laser headlights and wasn’t sure if the standard G30 LUT would be right.
Need to test both sometime but what you see above is the G05_laser_ECE LUT

I had to double check since you made me doubt myself 😁. The lights are showing correct.

Nope seems to be a firmware issue, I’ve asked all my buddies and checked YouTube reviews. Same glitch, only thing we can do is ask BMW to fix it and send an update but tbh, it’s minor.

I don’t want to update and have BMW lock more stuff down.

Very true, don't even notice until I read your post. We could have nicer issues (knock on wood)
