2017 G30 iDrive Programming issue

Hello! First post

Wanted to inquire on here because my request is extremely specific with a lot of technicalities so I apologize in advance.

I had my key stolen, and it was required for me to go to BMW to get the replacement. $700 and an airtag later, I pair my new key (standard process, keyfob to side of steering column and hold) and the car started right up. I then realize that my iDrive won't turn on unless I press "Media" on the iDrive knob.

Even with the iDrive on, it's lacking critical components to be functional. (Won't connect to Bluetooth, "My Vehicle" information not loading, Navigation not loading, can't select driver profile.) It's basically acting as if the car is not turned on and/or the key is missing. Turn the car off and lock the doors, iDrive will stay on until about 15 minutes later until the battery cuts power.
I already tried disconnecting the battery for 30+ minutes and retrying, still having the same issue.

My guess is that this is a mix of a programming issue mixed with a fuse issue. Looked up methods to restore previous version of iDrive, but to no avail.

Before taking this into BMW and getting charged another kidney, I want to explore any avenue I have. Any ideas?

Side note: I'll update this list as I'm diagnosing it, but here are the things that are not working:
  • LED's on iDrive knob (MEDIA, COM) *but they do work if pressed*
Twist selection function on iDrive knob (although pressing up, right, down, left does work)
Driver Profile programming to new key
    Bluetooth
Volume knob (already tried holding it for 30 seconds, no functionality)

Making edits here;

In the interim of my key being stolen I called a locksmith who said he could program a replacement key for my G30 540i (You can see where this is about to go)
Very much unknowingly, I immediately gave him my location as other locksmiths told me I needed to go to the dealer and I needed my car.

Locksmith took out my FEM/BDC unit and probably realized after he couldn't do the job failed to reflash it back which resulted in a corrupted file. Looking at symptoms, I'm sure this is the case.

I reached out and he stated he was going to come back out, but I'm not confident in his ability to recover the corrupted BDC/FEM module.

Exact situation happened with a similar tradesmen on this post: https://mhhauto.com/Thread-SOLVED-G3...DC-big-trouble

I don't have any equipment to do this job, but I'm looking into options for local coders to try and recover this unit. Is there something specific I should be indicating?

Join the BMW G30 USA group on Facebook, there's probably someone local in Orlando that can reflash your BDC module.

If not there are group sponsered coders that can take care of you.
