Lease pull ahead on ED...When to return the car?

I understand that the finance paperwork need to be done before ED pick up in Munich and I would like to know when does my current lease need to be returned? Is it on the day I sign paperwork or can I return the car when the new car is back from Europe?

Ideally I would like to keep my current car until the new car is delivered in the US after ED so that I have a car to drive for about 2 months after ED. Thanks!

I just did the pull ahead and took delivery in Munich last week. You have to turn in the car when you finalize the financing before you leave for your ED. You will be without a car until the new one gets here. You might be able to work out a loaner but I was unsuccessful.

You will then see a $300 charge on your closed out lease ($0 balance due though) and a unused miles credit on your new lease account. The processing fee for turning in a lease is waived when you start a new one. BMWFS will also cover your 2nd payment, you will still see a balance due for your second payment so make sure you don't enable auto pay. On the due date, BMWFS will credit your account for 1 month payment.

golovko I've read somewhere that the drive off fees from the old car should carry over to the new lease. It is also mentioned in this article below. Do you know what that's all about?

I did get a credit for unused miles ($300) applied to the new lease and the processing fee for my old lease waived. Not sure about the drive off fees though.

(I updated my previous post)

I wasn't even aware I would get a credit. My understanding was you don't get a credit for unused base miles so I was surprised. I had 21,000 miles out of my 30,000 mile lease when I did the pull ahead.
