Eton B-100 W speakers
I installed a set of these in the front doors of the car yesterday. Big improvement over the HK. Hard to believe the Mickey Mouse nature of the HK speakers in comparison to these.

Well, I only did the front doors and disconnected the centre speaker. The Bavsound consists of much more. But the Bavsound doesn't deliver to Europe and costs a lot more than €190. The results for the outlay are impressive.

Nice. These are for the G30 right? The compatibility picture on amazon doesn’t mention it.
Is there a fitment guide somewhere, are they plug and play? Was the trim removal hard? |

They are plug and play component speakers and fit the G30 perfectly. If you go on the Eton website you'll find a full compatibility list:
http://www.eton-gmbh.com/en/products...o/bmw-upgrade/ You can follow the Bavsound G30 video for instructions re trim removal. I did the entire job in an hour. Here is the video: Last edited by Chuckyarla; 04-14-2018 at 03:09 AM.. |

Glad to hear you like them. I imagine they are quite similar in engineering quality and sonic character to the Bavsound units, and a more sensible solution for European buyers.
Just doing the front L and R sides, and disconnecting the centre, is definitely the most effective upgrade per £/$/euro that you can do. I wouldn't give too much credit to the size of the magnets on the Etons vs the HKs though. The Etons are still only rated at 50w. Maybe the HKs use neodymium for weight reduction ? Also, yes, the product description on the Amazon listing is wrong. They are component, not coaxial, as you say. Happy listening ! |

This epic thread on the 2 series forum is mostly about installing these Etons and disconnecting the centre channel. Lots of happy bunnies:

I had Eton's on my F31 and must say - it was great improvement for it's price.. even with standard hi-fi amplifier - difference is just great.

glad I found this post..
I have ordered the HK in my G30 saloon tentatively due for delivery in June and am hoping that a few queries can be assisted with on here. I have read the full post on the 2 series forum but what I would like to know if anyone has any other experience other than swapping out the front components in a g30. Has anyone tried the centre channel disconnect, or come to that replacing it with the Eton equivalent speaker (which seems to be coaxial only). Likewise the 2 series forum mentions a few users adding the JL audio coaxials to the rear shelf however I cant be sure the JL's will fit the G30 and also notice that Eton do have a component for this purpose also. So... I guess in my mind the ideal solution would be to add the Eton components in both sets of doors (B100W's) and in the shelf (B100N I think) and then either disconnect the centre or add the Eton coaxial. Has anyone done this? I would be amendable to just doing the bits that make the most financial sense, which may just be the front components and disconnecting the centre however I worry about unbalancing the system seeing that the G30 has an extra set of components vs the 2 series which has been discussed at length. The other issue is that the Eton B100W doesn't seem to be available on amazon any more and the price is much higher elsewhere, any other links anyone? the B100N for the rear shelf seem to still be available for around £150 ish, the only difference seems to be the depth of the mid (going off photos only) Thanks in advance |

Also if swappingnout the front components which have a different tweeter the centre will not integrate correctly. Hence my question if anyone had swapped out the centre (or LR mix as i believe it is) with the eton coaxial to keep the tweeters the same across all 3

Did you do the installation yourself or did you outsource it? I'm thinking upgrading the HIFI speakers to eton potentially with adding additional sound dampening. I'm curious if you have experience and could recommend any shop in the Prague area. |

Does anyone know (who has purchased these Eton speakers for a G30) whether they come with the crossovers?
I am in the UK and have the base level system, no tweeters in the doors, just the standard UK setup which doesn't appear to have an amplifier outside of the head unit either? I was hoping to do the equivalent of a level 1 upgrade and upgrade the front door speakers with a mid and tweeter component, but they will need a cross over. Any one already done this and found it worthwhile? Thanks |
