Also curious...I'd like to try this but wondering if there's any chance it could mess with HUD or any of the iDrive functionality. I'd imagine it's only addressing the CarPlay functionality.

From what I understand, there are a few features that need to be enabled for the CarPlay to work, this is where I think the problem arises as if you have something that’s already enabled on your vehicle and or something is enabled that simply isn’t there in the first place it can cause all sorts of encoding issues, which is where I believe I’m at at the moment. The system simp,y can’t boot up as it’s looking to boot something that isn’t there.

Hi guys,
I have bought this unlocking file and unlocked CarPlay as directed in the guide. Remove and reconnected the phone from CarPlay menu. Now I can connect my iPhone to the car via CarPlay. However, when I drive my car next time, it doesn't open CarPlay automatically. It sometimes connects as a Bluetooth device, sometimes doesn't connect. I need to go to "Manage devices" menu and select and reconnect CarPlay automatically. It doesn't seem to be normal. What is the reason for this? |

Hello gents
Any issues at the dealer to be expected when they update your entire car after you uses a solution like the one from bimmer-unlock.com?

Thanks for the update. But aside from that nothing to worry? They will be able to update all according to their procedures and all I officially had will be there and working after they update the entire car?

Correct. Depending on solution, some also offer way to revert back to OEM FSC codes and you could do that as additional precaution before taking car to service as well as when selling vehicle.

In no rush to go faster then 130mph but when these tires burn out I'll replace them with the non rtf all season Y rated Goodyear's. I'm sure car can be coded then. Appears everything in these cars is just a recode away.

I'm not so sure about this one. The limitation is to avoid liability for BMW. From what I understand, this cannot be changed after it leaves the factory.
