Ceramic Pro Leather coating?
Does anyone have experience with ceramic pro leather protection treatment? Or is it just snake oil?
I have an incoming G30 with perforated ivory white nappa seats and am extremely concerned about stains on the leather. I briefly thought about getting the CP leather treatment (or the CQuartz equivalent) but not sure it would help preventing stains, or at least making the leather easier to clean. I also worry about it making the leather less breathable and the seats sticky and uncomfortable. So I am leaning towards No, but wanted to see if there is any experience with this product in the community. |

I recently had Ceramic Pro applied to the exterior and wheels. I skipped the interior and instead did it myself with Gyeon LeatherShield. Easy to apply and much cheaper. No issues on my Ivory Nappa and I also bought their leather cleaner. I did try a small spot at first and then did all the seats. Main reason was to help shield against jeans transfer. Does not effect feel or breathability for cooled seats.

re Ceramic Pro Leather coating?
I had Cilajet applied to the exterior and interior of my car. The main reason for getting it done was to help protect the leather. It should make it easier to clean and it covers stains but not rips. The exterior looks like glass and feels smooth. The leather feels normal not hard or glossy. I'm really pleased with the results. It comes with a 5 yr warranty so only time will tell how it holds up.

I am also interested in hearing about anyone who has used ceramic pro on the exterior. I am waiting on a 2019 540M Sport with Azurite/Tartufo. Any input appreciated

I've heard good things about Gyeon leather products. Gyeon Q2 Leather Shield is long lasting but for now I just ordered Gyeon Q2 Leather Coat. I am concerned about plugging the air vent holes in seats. I will let you know after I apply the leather coat. Autogeek had a great Christmas sale. PS We need a forum for detailing. Check out the M3/M4 section. They have a whole active section on detailing. M5 folks also have a detailing section.

Nice to hear about the Tartufo seats your car came with, and please keep me posted about the leather treatment. I did not consider the problem of plugging up the ventilated seats, but definitely don't want to create that problem. Anyone else find a way to protect the leather without plugging up the air vent holes?

There is no issue plugging up the holes in the seats. You are not piling on the liquid enough to clog them. Check out videos showing the application process.

I had all internal surfaces coated with ceramic pro on my m550 about a year ago. No issues. In fact, shortly after, I spilled a Diet Coke on my seat (don't judge me). Everything pooled nicely with no absorption. Easiest cleanup I've ever had in a car.

Gyeon LeatherShield is a liquid, not cream, in which a small amount is put on the supplied Suede Applicator (which is wrapped with a microfiber cloth) and gently applied to the seats.

Thanks for the compliments on the seats. I love them especially with the heat and massage feature.
The dash is leather. Leather dash is a option or included with the IND Merino seats. It looks great and the stitching on the dash is coordinated with the seat color.

I think it is important here to note that the OP has Nappa upholstery. I suspect that there is a huge difference in how some products will feel on soft Nappa vs. harder, letherette like Dakota. So I think it is important that responders note what type of seat material they have.
I have Nappa but I have not put any protective cream on the seats so I can't offer any advice. |
