Uncomfortable Front Seat
I have been looking to lease a 530e, but the front seat seems uncomfortable to me. My legs feel pressure from the bolsters on the seat bottom, no matter how I adjust the seat. I sat in other BMWs, including the 330i and the X3, and did not have a similar problem. I also sat in a 530i, and did not have the problem. The 530i had the power cushion extender, while the 530e did not. I sat in several 530e's, and experienced the issue in all of them.
Has anyone else noticed this issue, and if so, do you know of anyway to remedy it? I really like the car, but the seat does not seem to be for me, for some reason. |

End up getting the Comfort Seats, 110% more better. I think they are called multicontour in the US. |

Sound like you want the multi contour seats. So either get them as a stand alone option or the luxury seating package.

I love my car, but I regret getting the standard seats. My front legs are always uncomfortable.
I should have gotten the upgraded multi-contour seats.

+1 for the comfort (multicontour) simply as they have have the most adjustments (20 I think) and additionally will have seat memory so once you have found what works for you, you can save that position. More important if more than 1 person will be driving the car.
Seat comfort is obviously very important so if you can afford to add these , well worth the extra. |

Very common complaint from what I have read on the forums, try out the multi contour seats, I have them in my 540 as well as my past F10 535 and 550 and they are amazing.
I am very picky when it comes to seats. |

When servicing my f10 535d with standard seats that are most comfortable, I had a loaner 530e with standard seats. The new seats are "sport" and tighter/stiffer. Totally different. Would make me go for the optional multi-contour seats if I was getting a new one. I am not a small, thin person, so the standard "sport" seats on the 530e would not be for me.

Wasn't there another similar thread on this somewhere?
Anywho, my "sport line" 540i I think came standard with the sport seats (it seems to in 2020) manual thigh extender but electrically adjustable side bolsters... very comfortable seats.

I agree with many of the other posters that you want the nulticontour seats. That is what I have. I also have the Nappa upholstery and it is softer than the Dakota or Sensatech. Again, the seats in a 530i will be the same. My suggestion is go back and seat in different types of seats and different upholsteries and make your decision based on that. If you are comfotrable in a 530i, you should be equally comfortable in a 530e. BTW, the multicontour seats have power adjustable thigh bolsters so that might make a difference. |

Love my standard 16-way sports seats with SensaTec. Most comfortable seats I have ever owned. Even my passengers comment on how cozy they area.
You want to try truly uncomfortable seats? Seat on any new 3 series G20 for what you will notice an immediate difference. Hard seating surfaces. Heck the standard seats in my E90 were narrow, short bottom cushion and hard as park benches for comparison.

Another benefit to the multi contour seats which is never discussed is that they can be adjusted higher than the standard sport seats. I prefer to sit a bit higher and I feel too low in the standard seats.

Like everyone else has said, check out the multi-contour seats. My past 540 had them and I much preferred them to the base "sport seats" due to the greater amount of adjustment and support they offer.
Here's a photo of what they look like. In the end though, gotta always remember, YMMV.

I came really close to adding the multi contour seats when I ordered my car. I may be a minority here but I'm glad I didn't because I like the extra bolstering and I feel the seats fit me perfectly.
Seat comfort is about as subjective as it gets, so nobody is wrong here. I'd say it's important to try them all out before buying, but that should go without saying. |

It's all subjective and your body shape/weight ultimately dictates comfort. G30 Sport seat = I sit IN the seat. Multi contour seats= I sit ON the seat. Another strike against the multi seats is that BMW forces you to purchase leather upholstery to get them. I am not a huge fan of cowhide seats on cars. If there was an option to get them on SensaTec they would warranted another look.

While the sports seats have power side bolster adjustment, the setting is not tied to sport mode.
