Coding my 2020 540i
I just traded in my 2017 540, for a 2020 540i
I’m wondering if anyone in SoCal (in Palm Springs area but can go toward LA) can code my car for me? I can pay you Or point me in the right direction on how I should go about it, I wanted to get Apple car play, delete the disclaimers and have it save the auto turn off to the last Set not have to press it every time I turn it on. Thank you Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this

For 2020 G30 with Idrive 7 MGU aftermarket Carplay activation is not yet available. Only OEM, which you can buy through your Connected Drive store or dealer. Coding can be done with no problem.

Thank you guys, however it shows on the connected drive website that I am subscribed and is active for Apple car play however the car does not give me any options to connect. I then used voice command to connect to Apple car play and it says the car does not have that feature

Deleted your phone and connect as a new device. if it's showing on your connected drive account then it should work. Or call the connected drive team and see if they need to push the update to your car. I managed to get bmw to enable CarPlay for my car (long story) but it took a few hours for it to show on my car. |

Update: I updated again and then I held the volume button in until the screen turned off and reset, finally popped up under bluetooth to connect via car play.

So I just got BimmerCode along with an ENET cable today. I was able to code most of what I wanted pretty easily (sometimes BimmerCode couldn't connect so I and to plug and unplug the ENET cable a few times to get it right). However, I wasn't able to code any of the head unit related items (tire pressure control, iDrive warnings, etc). Appears that I didn't read all the fine print on the BimmerCode site that if you use a 3rd party to activate CarPlay (which I did this weekend), then they can't code any head unit items. I guess I should have coded first and then activated CarPlay. Just a cautionary note for anyone to code first, then activate carplay later.

Is there an easy way to return to stock? It was suggested I use esys to VO back to stock, but that seems a bit over my comfort level. Worried I’ll majorly F something up.

The carplay full screen option I bought let's you go back to stock with one click. I don't know what it's called but I can check. I did not do the USB option. It's via enet cable.
