Here is a picture -not the best, sorry about the glare. Grey Popular will be light and dark grey and give you a monochromatic look. Fineline Ridge is a mix of dark and light browns, more so than is shown on the configurator web site, and it gives a rich, contrasting look. Finalize Ridge is a straight across grain, whereas Grey Poplar is a burl. Both are glossy, versus Fineline Cove Matte and Fine Wood open pore Ash which are flat, no gloss.

I am very happy with Fineline Ridge, I wanted more of a contract vs. all black/grey.
Thank you! Really appreciate that. It looks much closer to my Burl Walnut in tonal color and gloss than the online configurator led me to believe. I think I'd miss the burl pattern, but would miss the color and warmth contrast more.

Does anyone have a good trim picture of the Fine Wood open pore Ash (was called trunkwood I believe)?

I had Burl Walnut with Black Nappa on my 2018. The Fineline Ridge Wood is lighter and than Burl Walnut and of course it has the different grain. More like Fineline is light chocolate and Burl Walnut was dark chocolate. But I really like it, its a good change of pace from what I had while still giving some warmth to the otherwise black/grey interior.

Thanks for the site! My 540 has been "At Port" for a week or two. I checked the schedule to see the ship departing today and when I checked the tracking website it said "In Transit"

My tracker moved to In Transit sometime this morning! I guess it is on the Themis departing today.

Updated timeline:
At the port on September 11th
In Transit on September 17th

The Themis has already set sail, so you're on your way. Doesn't look I made that boat; Seemingly, mine will be on the Boheme, now leaving on September 29.

For what it's worth, my 2021 540 arrived at Bremerhaven on Sept 11 and left this morning the 17th at 1:00 on Orion Highway (K Line).

BMW Genius line gave more info than the tracker. They confirmed my vehicle departed on the Themis on September 16th and is expected to reach VPC October 7th.

TomWinMD -- thank you so much for the detailed report throughout your lengthy, but worth it, process. I am anxious for my next BMW -- as it still sits in the "order processed" stage. I look forward to the same excitement conveyed by your posts! Enjoy your car!

My pleasure. If you're interested, I've posted a thread on the Performance Center Delivery experience and my thoughts after putting 1K miles on the car as well.

Nice! I haven’t seen a 5 in that colour yet. I bet it’ll really stand out.

My 550 just arrived at the dealer awaiting ceramic Opticoat plus. The adventurine red is even better in person I think. Enjoy the wait.

FYI, these are 19 inch, all season run flats, for northern Indiana. The tires are Continental ProContact GX SSR....not great reviews, but, oh well.

Nice! I'm not usually a fan of black wheels, but they really suit that colour.

Great color. I saw one on the road yesterday and did a triple take, not having seen that color before. Enjoy!
