Quick question on the pdc cameras.

In my previous Mercedes, when moving from reverse to drive whilst the pdc cameras were active the screen would switch to front and rear camera accordingly.

In my 540, the camera seems to stay in reverse camera only, even when moving forward.
Is this a setting issue?

You can get this to auto toggle by hitting the A camera. I think also activating the cameras before reverse might do this. But my car is at the dealer so I can’t confirm.

What year (build month/year) is your 540?

2017 registered, not sure of build date.
It has night vision etc so is pretty well specked. Just surprised it doesn’t do this by default

I get a double image. the one on the left lets me see how close I am getting to whatever is in front of me (another car, a curb, etc.) so I don't hit it when parking. Of course, after about 5 MPH or so the image disappears.

Do you have the 360 camera system?

Thanks logicalApex, I found the auto button on the car image to the left of the camera image and it does now flick to front facing camera when hitting drive.

However, I need to do this every time I pop it into reverse etc?

Why doesn’t the car default to this option?

This is a good question. I just toggle back and forth if needed. But I can see where that would be a pain if you're conditioned to something that does it for you. I don't know any better, so my ignorance is bliss haha

I agree it should default to the Auto view as it is sublime. As it not only auto switches to the front camera it also automatically swaps to a view from whatever angle it thinks needs attention. It is really cool.

My memory is that hitting the camera button brings it up in auto. Sometimes it does it for me automatically, but I haven’t isolated the trigger.

My car won’t be back until next week so my memory is the best I can do for now.

Any feedback? My G30 always never defaults the Auto - always triggers the reverse camera and it is really annoying me.

For me it helped going into reverse, then pressing the auto button on the camera screen on the small car. The i drove forward changing the camera ofc. Next i would park the car and turn off the car. When I came back it had remebered the Auto camera setting when i put it in reverse.

Are you sure you have 360 cameras and a front camera?
