Just shows how crazy this car market has gone. I bought mine with 10,800 miles and 3 more packages for $8,000 less in Sept 2021. Nuts!

Last October, I contacted Carmax, Carvana and Vroom to sell my 2020 Range Rover. Vroom gave me the best offer. I then took this offer and contacted 6 Land Rover dealers via email. I told them the price I would sell, and one took my offer (almost $1,600 more than I paid after 23 months of use).
The dealer wrote me a check and immediately put the vehicle in the showroom with a $10k markup over what they paid me. I thought maybe I should have held out for more money selling privately. It has been 8 months and the vehicle is still in stock discounted $1,375 below what they paid. I can't say I feel sorry for the dealer when every new vehicle they have in stock is marked up $10-30k over MSRP. I am glad I ordered my M550i when I did and I am not in the market to buy now.

Whatever the best offer you get from CarMax, Vroom, Carvana, or a dealer — assume you can get 10-15% more in private sale unless you got some weird options or problems with your vehicle.
Posting on here and G30 Facebook groups.. and maybe even OG Marketplace is the way to go. I don't think the auction sites have the level of traffic people think they do for certain cars. I think flippers and dealerships make a killing buying cars from those sites at low prices. I know no one asked about that but just my 2 cents after watching and agonizing for months on how I'd sell my car, for how much, and how to actually not get scammed. 😂

And dealers generally don't jerk you around, crying that the wife won't give them permission or they can't get a loan... at least when they're buying. When they're selling, well, of course they play all the games!

I’m not interested in selling, but got a Carvana quote as suggested and mine sucked. $41k for a 2020 540i with 16k miles (MSRP was $73k). My Cap Cost was $62k, so it seems I haven’t done very well after 20 months, even after what I thought were decent discounts at the time. I have 16 months left on this lease at $600/mo (zero down, max MSDs, base MF) so I should probably just ride it out. Residual is $41.8k so it will be interesting to see if it would make sense to buy out at that point, especially given my low mileage. I never intended to keep it past the lease, but times are crazy. I absolutely love the car, but long term ownership of a German car is scary.

Would love your opinion on why you think my car is not selling. Its in my post history but its a nearly fully loaded 540i AWD 2017 with a month left of CPO warranty. No accidents. Am I asking too much at $37,500 with 47K? Carvana offered me $36K in its current condition.
