I hear you and will be following. I am also trying to not touch the car anymore than I have to. That said, I feel with the incredible foam and lather I put on that car that there is plenty of lube for a one-pass with the mitt. I was not using a mitt, but I feel like the Car Pro reset rinses better when agitated.

Been using this (well diluted) and left to dwell for a few mins. 10:1 is more than ample, could go more, just spray on with a garden pressure sprayer.
Seems to be working fine so far on the ceramic, used it all the time on previous truck.
Im also with Joe, a well lathered car should be fine for a single pass with a mit, as it can be impossible to shift some stuff without doing so, and using too high a pressure with the washer could be, well, disastrous.

I second the lather and lube of reset. I'm getting greedy and wanting to eat the cake too. Probably end up buying snow foam and I can always use it before the salt anyhow. Can't fathom foaming then going straight to a mitt like I do now.

Agreed, in all fairness, my car is pretty clean by most peoples standards when I wash it. Maybe some dust build up behind the wheels, so I am really not rubbing anything in. Hood, fenders and nose are also PPF'd, so I really don't worry about the mitt there. There is no way a winter coat of road salt would come off without some help though. Luckily, I don't drive this in the winter.

I had 2-3 weeks of driving, including about 750 interstate and highway miles, since my last real car wash. It was pretty filthy. So I bit the bullet and went ahead and went all the way with the buckets and mitt. I sprayed the entire car with car pro reset from the foam cannon and let it sit then rinsed it well. After that I had a little foam left and also had a bucket with water and car pro reset (as well as the rinse bucket). So what I did was a quick foam spray to whatever section I was working on, and then I went over it with the mitt and bucket suds. I know it was redundant but 1) I had the foam left anyway and 2) it made me feel 100% confident I had as much surface lubrication as possible.

The car looked phenomenal after. I think Joe is right that the car pro reset performs better when agitated (both cleaning and rinsing all the way off).

I know we talk about being contact-less as much as we can to reduce risk of damage, but sometimes it's just what's needed to do the job.

Related but separate comment:

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I tried the Adams VRT instead of the Car Pro Perl, mainly for cost. It's a similar water based product for the same purpose. I have to say it's really impressed me. It's been about 3-4 weeks since I used it on the 540 and my wife's Lexus suv. I did hit the tires again on both, but did not have to hit any door/hood seals on 540, as they were still looking good. On the Lexus, there is a lot of black plastic trim and all of it really still looks great. The only plastic area I applied was the running boards. They looks good still, but it's a high traffic spot and stands out well when they're looking good. And it does not make them greasy or slick, which is obviously important.

I'd say the Adams VRT is worth a shot if you're looking for something new to try. I also used the Adams foam applicator.

I'll definitely give that a shot once the Perl is gone. I am going to try the Perl on the interior soon. You are supposed to cut it 1:5 for vinyl and leather. I think 50/50 for engine, seals, etc. I should go through it. I am trying to use self control. I have a habit of trying something new and never going back to use up what I had.

After much deliberation (20min), I bought the carpro lift, trix and descale, plus some odds and ends for free shipping.

Alright girly men! Check this out. I love it...and I don't want to see the purists at my house with pitch forks and torches. Everyone complains about the expense to maintain an older BMW. You have the look, but parts are cheap and it will rip. Drive it like it was stolen. There are several builds on youtube

HA! Nah, I actually like these project type builds when they are done purely for entertainment or just kind of one offs. I'm a motortrend channel junkie.

Tri Colored Grills - I'm just the resident M stripe wise ass, get that shit off your car cheeseball.
EV's - no soul, a fancy golf cart.

LS Swap - I'm always intrigued.

Joe's got a splash of Drakkar cologne, Mullet and Chevy in his blood. Don't let him fool you.

The problem with the dudes that are doing these kind of swaps is they're all clapped out. They have these jacked carbon fiber hoods, 15ft wide wings, crappy sounding exhausts. I would build a stealth bomber. I wouldn't want to bring any attention to this thing....total sleeper. I would even install high flow cats on there to quiet it down. They sell crate motors with 525hp out of the box. It will cost probably a little over 20 grand with all new parts.

I'd want to find a BMW rolller (blown engine). The T56 magnum 6 speeds are absolutely bullet proof and a naturally aspirated LS engine will be up to task. Buy one of those conversion kits that have all the bracketry and aftermarket ECU. I'd prefer the Holley HP EFI...easy for me to tune and it has OEM like drivability characteristics. Jesus....my lady is going to kill me.

Im a missionary 24/7/365 kinda guy. no need to fix it if it isn't broken. This reminds me of a bit I saw with this Italian cook Gino D'Campo. This guy is putting sour cream into the engine bay.

LOL
you're right, sleeper would be legit but header cutouts and sawzall'd passenger head rest is a must. I'd have to make them FEEL ME if they trifled. Speaking of feeling, a Supra blasted past me yesterday. Fucking thing sounded like an angry dyson vacuum. I'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing considering the build quality and technology of dyson, but there it is.

Spot on my friend. This is me, circa 1984. Gold chains, mullet and I am pretty sure I had a Gold Fiero when this was taken. I am definitely a reformed car snob (and a hypocrite!).

Sounds familiar.

Budweiser, Marlboro Reds, and Chevys. Shirts optional. Real sports require contact.

Today I'm an avid golfer with a white collar job, wearing slacks 5 days a week, and have a BMW and a Lexus in the garage. Haven't used the grill in two months because it's too damn hot.

My how times change…

In Todays Episode of General Chat - STOCK TALK

A few weeks back I bought into several thousand shares of FUBO TV stock at $2.50 per share. The company isn't profitable yet and probably won't be for a couple years. Despite it not being profitable, I thought at $2.50, it was way undervalued. The shorts have been killing this stock over the past few months.
My position is a long hold.

I have FUBO TV and it's freaking outstanding. Total cord cutter. The interface is way better than the competition. A boat load of channels, 1000 hours of DVR. The company has more than doubled its subscribers in a years time without one hiccup in service. Now that's scalability. Having been an operations guy, it seems like their operations is rock solid.

Anyways, this shit is going nuts...the stock exploded yesterday. It shot up 80% and finally closed at a 44% gain and pre trade is 11%. The next Meme stock?? I never get lucky like this.

Whether this stock does well or not, the product is outstanding and gets you away from expensive crap like Xfinity...etc. $75 bucks per month....all you need is an internet connection.

Excellent. I love it. I'd normally take at least enough off the table to cover my initial investment and let that shit riiiiiiiiide. This happened with me on a biotech. I let it ride too long tho and this pig got turned into a hog.
