Activating Anti-Dazzle

Hello all, I have a 2018 M550i and curious how to go about activating anti-dazzle. I have protool and bimmercode but figured I would ask. I do not want to lose the coding if the dealer ever does an update so it there a way to put that in the VO?

As far as I know there is no way to put it on VO. But the code is in the link below.

Seems straight forward. Thought it would be a lot more coding.

Big debate whether this fully does it or not. I had the remote coding done on my old 540 and did this on both my 2021 M550 and 2022 X5. To my eye, it seems to work the same. Others say the actual changes needed are far more extensive and not achievable with Bimmercode.

Sam - there is a lot more to coding Anti-Dazzle than a few switches. Variable Light Distribution also needs to be coded with Anti-Dazzle. FWIU, there are many parameters to be edited. I highly recommend paying a coder who is experienced with this.

No is will not overwrite your current coding and mine is part of my VO.

How would I get it to be part of VO. I'm not looking to lose coding if for some reason an update is done.

What year is your car Sam? 2018 right? There aren't many updates left for ID6 and none that are critical. I haven't run into any issues. I had mine updated to current in April 2021 and then coded a ton myself with ProTool and Bimmercode. Dealer knows to not update my software.

AD and VLD were not coded by me. It was coded prior to my ownership or may have come from the factory coded. The person who coded my LCI tails was surprised it was part of the VO. I may have been lucky to get a US car with Euro functionality.

Gotcha Joe. Care to messagee with who your coder is? Also, do you have to enable it by pressing the button on the turn signal arm everytime?

Almaretto is the master at AD/VLD. As I said, mine was already coded, so no direct experience, but I have friends who have used him. All thumbs up.

Yes, you need to turn it on every restart. Sucks. I had an LCI as a loaner last week and LCI's remember the last setting. No way to code this either.

It's become a ritual for me. Start the car at night and press the bottom stock button. When you see AD/VLD in action, you will never forget to activate it.

Not sure why this has never been a feature of BMW as many other cars do not require you to enable HBA on each drive.

Unfortunately, only the F010/F25/etc series vehicles had option to enable automatically.
