ISSUE 1:
Passenger seat belt clip constantly rattles against the interior 'wall' when not secured.
Perhaps fixed in LCI?

Hack: I clip the passenger seat belt when driving solo, otherwise drives me crazy. Velcro would fix it - call me lazy...
We're on our 3rd BMW (2012 & 2014 535i's and a 2019 540i) and every one has done the same. The passenger seat belt buckle hits the "B" pillar if the buckle is low on th belt. I just have to raise the buckle on the belt.

Same on my old 2012 535i and still present on my M550. I guess it's a BMW quirk we have to live with.

2020 M550, 31k miles
When I took delivery of the car new, the ac wasn't getting cold. After 2 failed attempts to fix, the entire system was replaced under warranty. At 28k miles, my brakes started squeaking. The dealer checked & they still have 6-12 mos life left. No other issues. I love the car.

2019 530e xdrive, 41000 miles
  • Buzz noise kept coming up from the speaker behind the display screen
  • Driver window making squeaky noise during a rainy day.
  • Rattle from roof rail ( I think)
  • Rattle inside the front dome map lights section

So I guess most problem for me is the noise in the car.

^^^ I stuck some 2"w black felt tape to the "wall" where the buckle resides. Still hits the wall, but much reduced noise, now.

I never had an issue with the front passenger buckle. However, when all windows are down, my rear driver side belt flaps like crazy. Buckled or unbuckled...I never had a car do that. It can be annoying.

You can just raise the buckle high on the belt strap so it leans against the felt on the B pillar. At least that's how it is on my M550. B Pillar is coated with vinyl 2/3 from the floor up and the last 1/3 is felt or soft cushion material.

Lease #1 - 2018 M550 (ED) 3 year lease and 2 month extension. 38K miles at lease end and no issues at all.
Lease #2 - 2021 M550 10 lease payments remaining. 28K miles and also no issues.
My wife and I love this model with the physical buttons and knobs and without the giant screen. We're now looking for a 2023 allocation which we're planning to keep long term.

Physical buttons. I will not buy a car without. I hate the infotainment systems…they’re a big distraction and not necessary. My son went to Lexus to test drive a car. He sat in it and told the guy,”I’m 22 and I dont even know what the hell is going on in this thing”. He didnt even bother to drive it…wasn’t interested in all the bs. He took a Suburu outback for a drive…same crap. He said it took 30 seconds for the infotainment to boot up and more time to turn on the seat warmer…he couldnt even get the seat warmer to work. Everything on it was driven off the screen…buried in menus. He walked from that too.

Time to buy a muscle car and throw fuel injection on it…call it a day. Fan - low/med/high. Flick the lever from right to left for heat control. I find those older cars to be extremely comfortable…vinyl seats and all. This preformed leather 80 way adjustable shit isn’t all that. My friend has several muscle cars and my back never hurts in them.

Hello. I recently joined, because I was looking for an extended warranty. Once I learned about Route66, I joined PenFed and purchased the warranty for $2900. I have a 2018 M550, and at the time I had 24,000 miles. These are the issues I've had.

- Back in September, my sending unit on the driver's side went and my Vanos on the exhaust side went. I didn't realize my warranty was up. I thought I had until the end of the month, but was told it was up, two days prior. I ended up paying $1600 for repairs. I then purchased the extended 5-year, 100,000-mile warranty, through Route 66.

- In November, my right side went, and my gas tank needed repair, along with the other side of the Vanos. The entire job was $5200, of which I was responsible for $600. Route66 paid the rest and there was not one hiccup. I received a loaner and the service advisor said everything went smooth. Great warranty company, in case you are searching for an aftermarket company.

Same here. Big reason I did not consider the new M340i. I am wary of the day I will be forced to buy a car without (most) physical buttons.

Finally hit the active shutter issue at 48k. Kind of dreading the b&w blown subwoofer issue…from other reports seems like it might be a matter of time.

I’d physically would of loved to hear what was playing to blow a b&w subwoofer. By all accounts the person is now deaf.

You’d think. My volume is typically low, but I saw it come up a few times in this forum, probably a couple in this thread. I’m Hopefully/likely overreacting.
