In the paint booth!
At long last, my M550i order is progressing! As of yesterday, it is “in the paint booth,” which means it’s only a few days from completion. Specs are as follows:
• Dark Graphite Metallic • Ivory White Nappa Leather • Shadowline Package • Executive Package • M-Sport Package Pro • Parking Assistance Package • Heated Steering Wheel I’m guessing it will arrive in Texas in about a month, but would appreciate all guesses/estimates on when it will arrive. Needless to say, I can’t wait! |

Yes it’ll progress quickly from here but then you get the most frustrating part, waiting for it to get shipped !
Mine sat at the dock for about a week and a half waiting for the ship. Lots threads here about tracking it. You should be able to work out what ship it is on and track that across the pond. Get the port it’s going to from the bmw genius which should help find that out I got my m550 a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be more pleased A truely superb car You will have one of the very last ones as production is apparently due to stop in april |

Your car will arrive to your dealer in about 6 weeks as long as there's no holdup in.....
Quality control at factory Transport to Bremerhaven port While at Bremerhaven port At VPC Sometimes there's holdups due to production issues, missing parts that need to be installed, other stop sales, and in other cases for no good reason whatsoever. So, wishing you luck for a speedy arrival.

OP, any updates from the dealer or Genius on shipping?
Mine has been at the port since 3/21/23. The dealer told me it would take another 10 days before it gets on a ship earlier today. Last edited by Shane_ATX; 04-06-2023 at 12:11 AM.. |

Yes!
Kline has their next pick up from Bremerhaven on 4/28. So I’m assuming it will be a vessel from Wallenius and Wilhelmsen (Patriot) on 4/20. Just wondering if OP might have gotten on a ship that took off towards end of March. |

Cool so if you get an update on that day that should confirm it, you should also be able track the ship in real-time across the ocean. (Amazing what you can do these days!)
That will also give an eta of when it’s due to dock aswell . I know the wait is agonising. I spent the time reading every review and watching every single YouTube video (there a few good ones on there) I’ve not seen any negative reviews of this car |

Come to think of it—I never asked genius what port it was at. Dealer told me Bremerhaven a while back and genius just now told me they have no idea what port it’s at! I’ve heard some have had theirs shipped from Zeebrugge. If that’s the case it’ll be here sooner!
It definitely is! I placed my order 12/4/22 and completed production 3/17 (took a few months to get an allocation). As soon as I get it I plan to put it into the shop for track pack PPF, tint, radar, subwoofer. Another 3-7 days before I can have fun with it ![]() what do you like best about the car??? |

Dealer should know for sure, my dealer sent me a screen print with that info on it. So the “genius” should be able to tell you that with the order number
What do I like about it , well everything really! The engine is the obvious place to start, even though I’m close to finishing running in now , just shy of 1000 miles, the engine is very refined and quiet and surprisingly economical And I haven’t even start to explore the power of this yet so I have that to come Suspension also very good , not floating on air but all round comfortable and planted. In general it feels very high quality If you’ve not read my initial review, it’s here https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=29904376 I’ll be following up with another once it’s run in and I’ve had a chance to explorer more of its power I really think this may be one of bmw best cars ever And the best thing is it’s understated and doesn’t draw attention |
