Just like the title says. I was curious to see if anyone destroyed their M sport brake rotors. It seems to be a pretty damn stout braking system…. But the car is pretty heavy… I figure there would be someone out there doing some 150 mph oh shit heavy braking… any fade or warpage?

My brakes were replaced at about 15k miles due to some vibration, I had warranty coverage for that so didn't question if it was a warped rotor or pad transfer. For the last 30k miles no issues. Similar thing happened to my 540i, new brakes in 15k miles or so and then no issues for the next 30k. Go figure.

Yep, had a 2019 540iX w/Msport brakes in Spain, front rotors replaced at a bit over 40k kms - €2k!!! Ouch! Was out of warranty by 6 mths or so - the best I was able to get out of the BMW dealership in Algeciras was 40% discount on parts and labour… Appears this is reasonably common to Msport rotors - my assumption is that the reasonably heavy vehicle braking from high speeds is tough on the rotors…

Yes caused vibrations when breaking so I eventually changed them all. Car had only 36k KM. A trick if you want to know if its your front or rear discs is use cruise control to break as it only uses rear brakes to slow the car.
Set cruise to say 80km and drive at 100km then engage cruise recall. The car will slow itself using rear brakes only. If there is no shake using cruise to break it’s your front discs if you do have shake when breaking manually. |

I was surprised to see the rear brakes on my F30 were down to the nubs but the fronts still had plenty of life. Assume the G30 will be the same. I use cruise a lot, and love how it keeps the speed down according to the cruise setting, even on descents. (my Honda does not do this. We have it so good).

Then again, I had to have high performance rotors (all 4) replaced in an Audi RS4 at 45k km… |

That’s what I was looking for. The car is heavy, so I’d expect some fading after a few good high speed hard slow downs. |
