S63 crossflow exhaust turbo manifold on N63
As title states, can you fit an S63 crossflow exhaust turbo manifold from M5/M6 F10/F90 to a N63 motor that uses twin scroll turbos? Specifically, N63R/N63TU2
I searched around but could not find anything You would think that F10 550i owners would try this but their turbos are not twin scroll like the M5 so that would not work without S63 turbos/downpipes, However all G30 M550i use very similar turbos to previous and current gen M5 so it would be interesting to see if this works.

if the manifold make the car more quiet I can add downpipes without an increase of rumble,

I agree as well. The lci m550 with an aftermarket exhaust sounds lumpy, and isn't smooth. It's not an engine you want to hear pushed even higher in the rev range. At least the m8 and m5 sounds smooth. The concern would be the turbos spool too fast and there's excessive torque down low causing havoc on the transmission.

this will not work because the O2 sensors are reading per bank without crossflow, while M5 DME know that the exhaust is cross fed from one bank to another (from some of the cylinders) you will need to get M5 ECUs + Custom tune in order for this to work

Would it not achieve similar results to what you want to achieve with a simple xpipe or h-pipe with dealing with the headache of swapping manifolds?

I actually put the M8 comp exhaust on and the 3.5 pipes are a huge improvement. With the 200 cell dps, response is phenomenal now but it's the nature of the motor-- lumpy sound. The nature of a cross banked manifold make for less turbulence in the exhaust from what I know. I'll put them in when I upgrade the turbos next year- either Pure or Weistec units.

No, 2K for DMEs + 1K for custom tune, not worth it

Sorry for my bad english.....i hope you can understand.
I installed 200 cell metal catalytic converters from F90 M5 with the M5 sport exhaust system because of Stage 2 tuning. However, the system is very loud in its configuration. Therefore, I removed the preheating of the catalytic converters to reduce further problems with the neighbors. Now we have 79db/a by 3500U/min. |

Hi guys,
Any updates on the s63 exhaust manifold on the n63 engine. Have done this job, but the O2 sensors reading cilinder 1,2,3,4 on bank 1 instead of 1,4,6,7 (cross bank manifold) Need to find out how to make the reference changes in the dme. Love the new sound, way better throttle response and the way the turbo's spools way faster (machined to fit the s63 manifold 70mm instead of 50mm) cheers! |

Are you saying you still need to fix the sensor readings or you already fixed it? You can reach out to Uktu @ UNP tunes and see what he can do for ya. |
