Shopping these two 540i's which is optioned out better?
Both are similar miles (30k - 40k) and within ~$4k of eachother in price.
Which would you consider of these two have better options? I'm dead set on RWD and while I prefer the msport brakes and 20" wheels, I like the color blue more and it has the blacked out chrome trim around the windows (which I like as well). I think the B&W sound system is alright too. Thanks! |

They're both close to mine. I absolutely hate the driver assistance package and have managed to disable most of it. But that wasn't really your question.
I have the HK sound and it is fine. The BW sound wasn't available when I ordered in '22, because I would have gone for it. I did not get the executive package, and there isn't anything about it I miss. Mine has the m-sport and the upgraded brakes. The brakes may be overkill, but they certainly look good. I also prefer the shadowline trim, which I went for, but looks like both of these cars have that. I went with the bluestone metallic, as my wife preferred it. Kind of a greyish blue or maybe a bluish grey. So, maybe the blue one here I would go for over carbon black. And I prefer a black interior. So, there you go --- 2018 blue with the dark interior! |

I would normally say go for the newer one, but I've found the BSM pretty invaluable. I can take or leave the lane keeping, and rarely use it (pretty much have to keep your hands on the wheel, so what's the point?). Carbon Black is a bugger to keep looking nice; trust me as my 2014 535i is CB. I would get the 2018.

I would absolutely get the 2019. Not sure if you work on your car, but I do on mine and the M brakes are so much easier to replace and install. And I owned a Carbon Black color, to me, it's one of the best colors. In certain light it looks black and other lighting looks blue. The multi contour seats are amazing on long drives as well. I would get the 2019. I think you'll be happy with either that you choose. The 540 is a great car, and if you tube it🔥🔥🔥
I had a stage 1 tune on my 540 and smoked a stock G80 on i84😂 |

The car is great. I immediately went stage 1 BM3 and xHP. I ordered a TU fuel pump and CG DS-1 catted DP as well which should arrive this week. Going to install those on Saturday and go stage 2+ BM3. If I'm being completely honest, I may have been happier with the 2019 as I don't love the 19" wheels and non msport brakes. I suppose that can be fixed down the road. I hear you on the Carbon Black, but the Mediterranean Blue Metallic is actually my favorite BMW color ever. I looks so damn good. |

Sold the 540i and driving an m550i with stage 1bm3 on 93octane. The torque is bananas. The HP is ridiculous. I strongly recommend upgrading the brakes when your done with the tune... You'll see what I mean when you feel that power 😁. Here are some pics with my limiter removed. Could've gotten higher speeds but I was closing in on a few truckers quickly. Hahaha. Engage M Brakes 😂 🏎️ |
