Hello,

Did someone install ambient lights for their g30?
I found a link on aliexpress but I'm pretty reserved when it comes to play with electrical wires. (afraid the car will light on fire).

I know this might be a surprise for some of you but not all g30 in europe comes with ambient lightning from factory. (learned it the hard way)

If I didn't have ambient lightning from the factory, I'd just grab a quality led kit from Amazon and follow a YT installation tutorial. The only reason, imo, to look for specific bmw ambient lighting options is to have it controlled from your iDrive. But why would you want to be stuck with minimal amount of color options when you can have the whole spectrum?
Just find a slick controller and install the lights.
May 2 cents, anyways.

I would prefer the IDrive control and not messing with wires. I don't mind the 11 colors as they can be coded and I dont think I will change colors that much.

As far as I read on the shop page its plug and play

I'm not aware of any videos. Honestly I won't do it. One of the many reasons is that it involves wires and when you play with wires your car tends to burn if you don't know what you're doing.

On the other hand I found a shop that is specialised in these type of services and they charge 500$ for the job. I think it's decent

Everything plug & play, I'll take the upholstery apart to improve the speakers, it will be easier for me with lighting. $300 for a job?

500$ including the lights and install, 64 colors.

It says plug and play but it requires some wiring. I found a video on g20

I don't want backlit speakers, I don't like them. Thanks for the video, now I'm sure three good beers and some good work will suffice - I like it. By the way, I will install Audison I Match u7bmw speakers

Hello, my bmw doesn’t have fabric ambient lighting so, i bought bmw m5 interior with trims and ambient lighting installed but i don’t know how to go further, i coded my idrive menu with esys and connected the bunch of wires on the door switches and they don’t come ON, i need help do i need extra wiring and is it possible to make them work because my car never had Oem ambient and now everything is original will this be possible to turn On the lights and who can help me what to do for the ambient lighting please!
