The 2023 M550i Canadian models I’ve seen seem to be in the lower area above the vent. Not sure about other years. At first, I thought there was no rhyme or reason to the placement.

😂😂😂😂

Did you see all that shit? It’s 2023 with 5k miles on it. You usually see all that shit from a third owner and first time BMW owner who just traded in his Honda for it.

Saw those stripes on a Benz (c-class I believe) at the mall last week. He went over the grille into the piece between the piece and the hood; he didn't even cut the decal over the gap! The car was totally ghetto!

He agreed about the bumper, spoiler & trims & said they could be made to look 100% again.

So to remove the spoiler & bumper, prep & repaint spoiler, bumper & fog light/vent trims, put it all back together & fit the ACS spitter….£1,465 ($1,865) Yeah I know it’s on the pricey side but am very confident in them doing a good job & having already been to three other bodyshops that wouldn’t even price the work I’m just gonna get it done & it’s not as though I have anything else to spend the money on & it’ll will be worth it to not see the road rash & peeling laquer every time I clean it
Have just emailed them back agreeing the quote & will give them a call tomorrow, waiting time on bookings is two to three weeks & they’ll want the G31 for three to four days.
That's around what I paid to have my F31 done and a similar amount of work, given that the 5 is bigger I would say the cost is about right.

The cost really is a bit irrelevant, the fact that they give you confidence and you are happy to let them work on your car is more the important. Do it once and get it right, I would be happy to pay a little more for that.

I sold it

Decided to part ways with my 2018 M550ix with only 90,000 Kms (< 57K miles). A difficult decision as I loved the car but it broke my heart in the last year when the 4.4 had to be replaced at considerable expense due to slipped rod bearings with only 80,000 km/50K miles , followed by the turbo coolant lines failing a month later. This was my first non V6 BMW and quite frankly do not see myself signing up for the heartache with another

That sucks. Sorry for the bad experience. What were the symptoms?

That sucks. Turbo coolant lines are unfortunately not a surprise. But the engine is. Any idea as to what caused it or just bad luck? This is the first I’ve read of that happening. Definitely with that kind of mileage.

Had the pleasure of driving car (530I) today while my baby is getting some love in the service dept. I can honestly say I will never upgrade to this model. The instrument panel actually fits the car vs the X5, but I really love the G30 setup and IDrive 7 vs this one. Whoever designed that car should be reassigned to another department.

My wife loved it though, I believe it’s because it is higher than mine. The one positive I can say is , it’s roomier than the G30.

From that angle, the first thing I thought was Altima.

Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning and will pick up Saturday, driving a 530i G60 loaner. Work being done:

Plugs
Coolant Flush
Air Filters
Cabin Filter
4-wheel Alignment
Two Front Wheels Straightened
Rash Repair on one wheel
Possibly two rear tires

Insurance is paying for anything wheel and tire related. She discounted me to $1,000 for the Plugs, Coolant Flush and Filters. They suggested an alignment for $150 and I said what the hell.

Dude - have you watched any YT videos on changing them? It is a major fucking bitch, especially the plugs close to the firewall which requires some creative tools and you will still be working blind. Before you even get to the point where your are unscrewing the old plugs and putting in the new, you have to take half the engine apart.

These ain't your Chevy 350's from 25 years ago. Yes, the plugs are cheap, the labor sucks.

I just want to point out that the BMW Value Service menu has opened up for 2018+ G30s and the spark plugs (and a lot of other things) are much cheaper than regular dealer prices.

Joe, she probably gave you Value Service pricing. Value pricing: spark plugs ($315.99), engine air filter ($119.99), cabin air filter ($100.99). So the coolant flush is costing you about $500.

Wow, you are probably right about the value service. I asked her to quote me on all of these before the winter and below (first column is the dealer, next two are indies) were the totals ($1,755), although coolant was only $280. She did say "around $1,000 with my discount". Indies are not going to be able to compete with these prices. I'm was saving the tranny fluid change for next year because of the price and I am also doing these other things very early. Do you see a value price for a tranny fluid change? Maybe I'll add that before they do away with it.

She did say "around $1,000 with my discount". Indies are not going to be able to compete with these prices. I'm was saving the tranny fluid change for next year because of the price and I am also doing these other things very early. Do you see a value price for a tranny fluid change? Maybe I'll add that before they do away with it.
Hmm, so maybe going to the dealership might end up being cheaper than indie shops? I'm at 37k miles. Going to do plugs myself at 50k miles. Might wait until 60k to do the drivetrain fluids(transmission, both differential and transfer case fluid).
