Wanted to see how you guys thought about the new rear diffuser from eBay with stock exhaust. I had some A-hole hit and run my car last year during the winter at lifetime. Bumper and diffuser was scratched/dented.

The install was easy 1/10 difficulty. The fitment was 8/10. And my opinion it’s a 7-8/10 for the look but I did see the m5 style diffuser just recently so I’m on the fence.

Let me know what yall think.

I ended up with the same one and for $179 I think it's a no brainer. Love the gloss as opposed to the factory matte. Keep it and add some spacers next?

Got the same one as well. Can't go wrong and it will accommodate large round tips if you change out the muffler. The gloss black also looks better than the gray stock one one on a white car.

Debating on spacers and a drop as the next mod, maybe new wheels.

I wanted to do engine related mods but with my random coolant issue I’m going to wait so I have my warranty in case.

Going on almost three years with that diffuser and honestly have never second guessed it or felt the need to change it out. It's a good balance between sleek and aggressive. Something about the M5 box-like diffusers don't do it for me, or at least this looks better IMO.

I just installed this one today and as the op mentioned, fitment is 8 out of 10. The 2 areas I don't care for is the areas on upper part of the diffuser by the reflectors. I can't close the gap in that area so it will probably come off, remove the reflector and run a screw in that area. It will be hidden by the reflector and I'm hoping it will pull it up closer to the bumper.
As far as looks, much better than stock.

Agreed. That fitment at the top is why I put 8/10. I sort of pushed the bumper a little inward and it closed a tiny gap but there is a tiny bit of gap left.

Staring the obvious here, but make sure all the clips are inserted into the slots. The come a little flat and have to be raised. I had the same issue as you described on install and just pulled it back, raised the clips and guided them into the body slots in that top corner. Almost stretching and pulling up onthe diffuser as I was clipping it in.

You may want to pull the entire top off and start again.

I finally took the plunge and installed the ebay diffuser on my stock exhaust. Like others, I had to fiddle with the clips on the top to close the gap as best I could. One question; I ended up with five leftover 8mm bolts because the new diffuser comes pre-assembled to its bracket. Is that correct?

Yes, pretty sure I only used 5.

I also purchased this eBay diffuser upon the recommendation of Joe (thanks Joe!). Fit and looks are great...the only issue I had was some of the mounting hardware didn't line up...so I ended up skipping the use of a couple fasteners. But its holding fine two plus years later. Tested at 150+ no problems.

It looks very cool but the fitment was 8/10 ,may it cause a large gap after a long time of use?

Mine fit pretty good. Every now and then I need to pop in a corner.

8 out of 10 ain’t bad for $150 bucks. That’s pretty much disposable money.
