Looking for oil drain/sump cover part number

A little bit of a weird ask, but I am looking for the part number for the oil drain/sump cover. It's the little black plastic cover that is hiding the oil drain bolt on our G30s. Mine is missing from the previous owner. I don't know if it's the same P/N on every G30, but I do have a 540i xDrive.

I found the P/N for the F10 chassis on bimmercat/realoem: 51757209541. However, the P/N is not listed for the G30 chassis. It's #12 in these diagrams: https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...58/USA/31_1456 or https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=31_1456

I would really appreciate it if someone could help point me in the right direction!

If you used your VIN on either of those sites to pull up the diagram...when an item in the diagram is NOT listed in the part nbr index below the diagram...it means your car doesn't use that part....and if the part nbr is grayed-out (like on the link to realoem.com)...that also means the part isn't used on the VIN you used to pull the diagram...or the model that was used to pull the diagram.

I played around a little to see which version or model uses item #12...so I clicked on item #10 to see all the G30 models that use that part number. That lead to discovering that only the G30 5 series with the B47/B47D/B57/B48/B48D/B57/B57S engines use item #12. Click this link then click on one of the links to those models to get the part nbr for item #12: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...263&series=G30

Ahh, that makes sense! I did not know that, so thanks!

So that leaves the question of whether or not my car actually uses that cover then...maybe it was never there in the first place? Can anyone with a B58 540i comment?

If that part doesn't apply to your car then it wouldn't have been there from the start. Otherwise, it would be listed as a part for that engine variant and VIN. They don't just add random parts at the factory.

Unless I'm missing something from what Qsilver7 explained...

It's just interesting that B48 would get this cover and the B58 would not. I know that the M340i has it (from Kies Motorsport's video on M340i oil change), so it's curious that it's absent from the G30. It's a cover for the oil drain plug and the underbody looks off with that piece open and everything else covered lol

I have no answer why BMW does this but they do. If the related part has the same part nbr (ie...if #10 has the same part nbr for your car as one of the models that uses #12)...then you can order it from your local dealer's parts department...or google search to see if an online vendor sells it. But do make sure that the corresponding/related part has the same part nbr.

I have a 2021 540i xdrive (G30, B58TU) and I've been trying to find this oil pan bolt access cover but keep coming up empty as well.

I did actually order this part #51 75 7 409 394 and it was too big for the hole. However despite the size it was the exact shape I needed. I could tell if the whole was just a little bigger it would push in and twist.

I also assumed the previous owner left the cover off.

If you have since found the cover please let me know. It just feels like there should be one there despite all the parts catalogs telling me otherwise! haha!

Called the parts department of my local dealer and it doesn't look like it comes with a cover.

Feel free to reply if I'm proven wrong
