MAD intake on g30 540i

Got the MAD intake for the g30 540i installed a few days ago. Sounds great and surprisingly pretty audible from the inside as well with all windows up. The price on this intake is just unbeatable compared to others like MST and Dinan as well

I like the almost stock look with the cap on it. Wouldn’t even know it’s there

Yeah I love the stock look of it with no branding, people that don't know what a stock g30 b58 looks like wouldn't even be able to tell

Currently running it without the lid and it sounds pretty good. I'll probably try it without the lid in the future too

Looks and sounds badass and glad you're happy with it! Just ordered the MAD intake and their axle back exhaust system for my 17 540i.

Share some sound clips when you get the MAD axle back please! I was looking at the MAD axle back and remus as my top 2 but can't find any sound clips of the MAD system, probably because its a pretty new release

Please measure your stock exhaust diameter right off the muffler we have found some years to have larger than 3 inch diameter and require a reducer connector. We are currently making them and will be ready in around 2 weeks or less.

Im guessing you meant with the lid. Your making plenty of sound id keep it on for less heat soak.

Ok I purchased the MAD axle back system as well as MAD intake through XPH. My stock inlet pipe diameter to muffler is ~ 3.1 inches.

One of the main reasons I went with the system was because per product description " MAD 540 Performance Exhaust is designed to seamlessly integrate with your vehicle, providing a perfect fit without the need for extensive modifications " . Nowhere in the product description was the issue about >3 in stock exhaust diameter and the need for a reducer connector mentioned.

Had I known that the product is still underdeveloped as far as fitment is concerned, I would've waited until the R + D was fully completed before purchasing the product.

So now I'm stuck with an exhaust that I can't install for few weeks coming. Who will be sending me the reducer coupler when the fabrication and development phase is complete? XPH or MAD ? Mike at MPH has my order # 149445

I'm not " MAD " by any means lol ! But I hope you understand my slight frustration

I sent a PM yesterday to you yesterday enquiring about this issue with no return response to date.

Appreciate your help and prompt attention towards this issue.

I believe we spoke over the phone yesterday, and I addressed your questions then. However, I'd be happy to provide the information again here.

Regarding the reducer, it will be sent either from MAD or XPH, depending on which one receives it first.

As for the issue, MAD thought the reducers were included with your purchase, but they were missed. This is why the product you received does not match the description.

I understand your frustration, and I think waiting for the reducer is worth it. However, if you prefer not to wait, please know that this situation is not your fault at all. You're not obligated to keep the product, and we can provide you with a prepaid return label and issue a full refund.

Thanks Mike for your response and excellent customer service 👍

I have no intention of returning the exhaust system. It's arriving today as well as the intake + SST valve controller.

I'll patently wait for the reducer connector

Not trying to derail this thread any further I just wanted you to be aware before cutting your exhaust that your piping diameter maybe be the larger 85 mm version. If you measure it and your exhaust is 3 inch you can go ahead and install it with the supplied provided clamp.

I also pmed you this info.

Just a question does the MAD axle-back require the m sport or m550i style rear diffuser?

Pics taken with caliper measuements:

1st pic- @ straight portion on pipe right before muffler= 80mm

2nd pic-@ bend portion of pipe right before muffler= about 81mm

Based on measurements , hopefully good to go w/out reducer connector?

Measurement should be done a little further down on the straight portion no bends.

The Clamp provided is 3 inch 77mm. exhaust outlet is 76m
