I come from having a historic loyalty to Audi's. My family was among some of the first to patronize the brand in the 70's. And I have consistently owned at least one throughout my lifetime, if not multiple as I do currently. But I am also on my 2nd BMW and have found the brand more suited to my lifestyle and preferences. I drive my BMW considerably more than anything else and enjoy the experience way more than expected. What I think contributes to this is a few things: -My BMW is uniquely, almost custom spec'd. Like a scratch dish at a 5star restaurant, emphasizing the talents of the chef in balance to my palate. -My BMW Dealer experience is absolutely top notch; thus, my ownership experience is supported at a high level. -BMW is a superior brand. Although, the two makes in my view don't necessarily directly compete, what BMW offers is the best of their category. So now I am ready to experience the ownership of flagship example of what BMW offers. Why not get into what BMW does best? To me, the 5 series is their captain and all star. And the M550 is the best of the 5 series. The beauty is even the search is a good experience. Trying to find that spec you want. Not the best deal one, but the one that is best for you. I am learning more and more about the brand, and it's loyalists, that I am sure that whichever one I land will be great. |

i think i'm confusing with my previous M340i. that one was a very twitchy car that induced vomiting with ease. i don't have i anymore so i can't tell whether it was 1 or 1.2 but i doubt i was hitting 1.4 on public roads. in an empty carpark maybe. |

The Alpha One amp for the LCI HK with RAM is actually the Match Up 10DSP with their plug and play harness. BimmerTech even references that on their website. You can get the Match (Audiotec Fisher) branded amp and harness from Crutchfield along with the additional power and ground wiring kit for about $1600 but it doesn’t include the mounting bracket that BimmerTech includes. So it’s probably worth just getting the BimmerTech version. 2022M550i went this route and was really impressed, which is why I ended up getting the amp for my pre-LCI 540i. I’m getting new tires first then getting the amp.
