Question about MHD flex fuel kit

Now im planning to get a TU pump and start mixing ethanol. I heard it can be a complicated process without mhd flex fuel kit.

For those who dont have the flex fuel kit, is it safe without it and if you guys do run E witnout it, how do you ensure that you wont blow your motor?

For those who do have flex fuel kit, how does it work? Like i put in 50/50 93 and e85 and it will automatically adjust using the MHD multi-map?

Wanting to follow this post. I installed the TU pump and have only used 93 octane so far. I have BM3 stage 1 93+ tune right now.

I can talk about having flex fuel kit. (B58 gen 2 , TU pump here)

Must have, if you are mixing ethanol. You plug it once between the fuel lines and it reports real time E % (or rather lack of gasoline) and my tune adjusts accordingly on the fly.

You can definitely feel a big difference between no E vs 40% E.

Pro: I do not have to worry about the final E % after refueling as different stations have different E % for flex fuel (50-85).

I can run between 91 octane to 93 to all the way upto any percentage of E in my car with out worry. (though on TU pump the Ethanol power gains peak out around 30-40 % )

I guess you would still try to get around 30-40 but you wouldnt test the content % e85 or the pump gas right?

Yes, I have no reason to run lower octane or go E85, unless I have to for any reason.

The benefit with flex fuel kit is, I can be super precise with how much E% I want to run at any given time or another way to look at it is not worry about not matching a said %.
