Odd acceleration issue and drivetrain malfunction that causes misfire/rough idle
2018 BMW 540I ~130,000 miles
MODS: Catless DP (Off a supra), BMS intake I need help to figure out what's wrong and the right course of action to fix these issues before my engine blows if it hasn't already. Odd acceleration: Recently when under acceleration my car would "buffer" and feel like its misfiring while under acceleration and sometimes on a rare occasion idling. I used to also run a very aggressive burble setup up until 70-80k miles (sport only), only issues I've had so far was coolant they've all been resolved. Drivetrain malfunction: Whenever acceleration if my car was buffering bad it would throw me a drivetrain malfunction and would misfire until I shut off the engine (when I would turn it back on all codes are cleared and it will run like normal). Possible issues I've came up with but haven't tested: -Faulty Primary O2 Sensor -Open injector (Gives code but when I test for rail pressure it seems normal) -Bad spark plugs -Bad tune (Stage 0 OTS Map off MHD and I update regularly) Notes: -Rail pressure 1400-1500 idle when shut off it would increase like normal -Somedays it would take ages to crank even start to fire then immediately shut off. But would start right up after pushing start again. -MHD OTS map stage 0 for most of the time using the car and tuned for a DP. -I replace motor oil on my own so it has a code for it -AFR showing 16-18 when rough idle (AFR showed even up to 100 when I was testing for rail pressure, I had to drive around to warm up the car and test it and was recording codes while just normal driving) -No CEL VIDEO OF DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION+IDLE https://youtube.com/shorts/a36OEeO7IYM?feature=share |
