After a two year pause, I signed up for Connected Drive three days ago.
After activating I made sure the app on my phone was updated and active. I have used Connected Drive previously and my car is still loaded on the app.

I can confirm I can remotely honk the horn or flash the headlights...stupid feature, I know.

But, when I try to update the status, the last update is from when the license ended back on 6/3/2023. Still shows the mileage and fuel level from back then...will not update, even if I pull down the page to refresh.

Remote camera does not work either. I can activate it, and hear the car boot up and attempt to do something...but eventually the app says "Something went wrong....An error occurred while processing your request. Please try again later."

I cannot use the following:
1) Check status, which shows fuel level, range and sunroof open/closed or door locked/unlocked, current mileage of car
2) Climatize function (ventilate interior of car)
3) Vehicle finder, locate car
4) Remote camera
5) Maps not updating. In fact last update was in early 2022, which means it was likely not updating during my last connected drive subscription

You need a map subscription as well as connected drive. At least that's the case in the uk.

In North America you only need a ConnectedDrive subscription.
Magically everything started working and synching yesterday after I took the car on a long drive into the country, about an hour and 40 minutes from my house. When I got to the destination, everything was now connected and the maps were updating.

The maps have only updated to 2023-2 (from 2022-1), but hopefully will update further in the coming days and weeks.
Today, 7/1/25 they updated to 2024-1. I guess these updates go in order and take a while...
