18 M550i - have a drivetrain malfunction & CEL.
The codes are below.
Will replacing the wastegate actuator fix this, or is it more of a turbo issue?

123401 - Electrical wastegate valve, adaptation: Cold start not learned
123439 - Electrical wastegate valve, adaptation: Bottom limit position

Happened to me on my 18 F30, it's likely a wastegate actuator issue.

Not sure if this is becoming more common as newer BMWs age.

Did that work for you? I am getting similar errors. Is turbo2 the passenger side?

I just got the same codes, bank 2 on m850. I'm going to get try to swap out the actuator. Does the turbo need to be taken out?

Yes, mostly but I seem to have an issue with the harness from dme to the actuator. I have a line disconnect error, 123406.
