No Center Front Jack Point (It Appears)

Dear fellow BMW enthusiasts,

The shop Forman at a local BMW dealership recently informed me there is no center jack point on my 2022 540i (G30). I believed there was one (like on my F10) but was not able to confirm it on the Internet. So I asked the shop foreman who told me there is none. (Whether he’s right, I have no idea. But I assume he would know about such a simple thing.)

I just wanted to pass that along.

Phil

You mean front jack point? Of course there is. It's further back but it's there. There are diagrams posted somewhere here, run a search and you will find it.

Zvery777,

Thx for your reply. I mean center front (under the motor likely on the axle) to lift the whole front end/both wheels. Did a thorough internet search and did not find a reliable source. (Closest I found was a shop manual for the G30 550i. Another thread Identified the apparent location on the 540i, but one person responded that his mechanic told him that was not it, that suggested location was under a rack and pinion, and not lift that point because it would damage rack/pinion.) So I asked a BMW shop foreman. He could be wrong. But before I jack the car at a point, I want to be sure it’s the right point. (On the F10, it was obvious and well documented.) If you locate a reliable source for the G30 540i, please distribute because I would like to know. I frankly hope the shop fireman is wrong.

Zvery777, thanks for sending this very useful information. I appreciate it (and I bet others do too)!

Looks like the shop foreman either didn’t know what he was talking about or didn’t want provide it to me. My guess is the latter. Have a nice weekend.

Do you have to remove any covers to access this?

No, the heavy aluminum cover has a protruding rectangle on the plate and is right underneath the subframe crossmember as labeled 1 in the above picture. Safe to use that point to lift the front.

Thanks for sharing. Does that also apply for the AWD Diesel Wagon (G31 530xd) ?
