Yes, Cuban Cigars, single malt Whisky and tequila. I'd be interesting in learning more about coffee beans now that you mentioned it.
I am an avid fan of dark roast coffee although i dabble in medium roast because I've read there are delicious, complex flavors that can be found in medium and light roasts (haven't quite ventured that far yet).

My fav method of brewing is French press so far although I'm considering an aeropress or clever dripper soon. My wife thinks I already have too many coffee gadgets (burr grinder, 2 French presses, kuerig, nespresso, various drinking vessels)…. I say there's room for more. Anyway I'm always trying to perfect the consistency of my French press.

I'm a believer in "it's the golfer not the club" mentality so I like to find good quality, but reasonably priced beans and then work to brew them as best I can.

Right now I'm drinking Cooper Moon Sumatra which was very reasonably priced on Amazon and impressed me when brewed right.

I also have a passion for automatic watches…
Jesus Christ. It's going to take me half a day to Google what you just said. I press a button on my delonghi and caffeine comes out. Whatever Costco has for sale works out pretty good. :

Recently bought a breitling and was never a watch person but can appreciate it now after seeing how they're made.
Dude I'm dying.

Also, FYI, when I started laughing and told my wife I was laughing at "the BMW forum" she said "is it the big swinging dick guy?" Referring to your comment on her preferring an X7 or GLS to a Telluride.

So that's who you are in my house now.
LOL.
Don't encourage me

I don't drink anymore but I always liked JD for cheap drinking, Bulleit for a step up, and Blantons for an expensive drink.

I like cigars and have a handmade humidor but I know very little. I do enjoy a lighter wrapper and Cohiba Connecticut is really good, though probably over priced. My house cigar is Fuente Cuban Corona Naturals since I got a box of them last Christmas. For a house Connecticut wrapper, Oliva makes a good one that isn't as expensive.

I love coffee but I know as much of it as my man Mandingo9 does. Also, for whatever reason I'm very sensitive to getting run down and jittery a few hours after drinking it. So I try to drink it in moderation (moderation is not something I excel at lol).

I also like a good diet Dr Pepper on occasion and run through a roll+ of Copenhagen every week. So I'm not super expensive to please. Haha.
Whats a good oliva cigar? Tried some non Cuban cigar but to me they're all shiite. I'd like to not spend $30-$60/smoke if I can. I only have a couple a month in summer so it's not out of control, yet.

Where do you get the real Cubans? Honestly, I don't smoke more than a dozen a year. For me it's fall and spring. This summer has been too damn hot down here.

I feel like when you smoke as infrequently as we do, might as well smoke what you like.

I've had Oliva Connecticut and like it fine. Wouldn't say it knocked my socks off or anything.

I've had a Fuente Opus X and it was good but not sure if it met the hype. I have 3 more that have been marinating in the humidor for like a year. Need to smoke one eventually

Again… the real cubans… can we get those now? I remember it being on the table but lost track of if it happened.

Yes I'm on the same logic. If you don't smoke everyday might as well make it worth wild. I'll look for oliva Connecticut when I'm out and about. I get Cubans from a couple of Swiss website but majority are out of stock or double/triple price from two years ago, I'm not paying those prices. I'll dip into my long term aging stash and hopefully more come on the market and price goes down. Websites are topcubans.com, finestcubancigars.com, cigarsofcuba.com

Gotcha. I'll have to check those out.

If you want to try a better Connecticut wrapper,
I'd go with the Cohiba Connecticut. It's impressed me on a couple of occasions. May have one this weekend.

I got a cigar sampler and enjoyed the Olivas the most. I'll have to see if I can dig up details but I think Olivia G was my favorite. I'm still learning the ropes but tend to like the best bang for my buck (when it comes to most things).

When it comes to coffee I'm actually pretty sensitive to caffeine myself. I've built up a tolerance and would love to drink 3-4 cups a day but that makes me feel like shit so I figure if I'm going to drink 1 cup…. mayyyybe 2 some days… may as well try to make them the best I can. I don't have a scale and get into weighing grinds and water but I measure in ounces and tablespoons as best as possible and I'm pretty precise with my brew times. Some people use super precise water temps but I get close enough.

Also got into making batches of cold brew since it's summer and have had a lot of success. Very easy to do

Whats a good region or brand to get beans from for a novice?

I was drinking 3-4 cups a day, until I put the pieces together and realized that's why I felt like shit.

Sounds kinda standard but a great Columbian bean is always a winner in my book. Also like Guatemalan a lot but don't often see them in a single origin dark roast (maybe I haven't looked hard enough idk).

A buddy got me into coffee with Don Pablo Signature Blend. It's kind of between a medium and a dark roast and I loved it. Always found it on Amazon reasonably priced. I've tried some beans from kicking horse and SF Bay company. All good but my current bag of Cooper Moon Sumatra is my fav. Gonna make me seek out other brands' Sumatra beans when I finish this one to see how they compare. This bag was pretty cheap so I'm surprised at how good it is, in my opinion.

Kinda all comes down to what you like. I recently had a fresh cup of Starbucks dark roast (not sure exactly which bean) and it was amazing. I rarely even go to Sbucks but it's making me want to grab a bag of Kirkland dark roast the next time I'm at Costco bc I'm pretty sure it's roasted by SB and probably the same stuff they serve.. just in a different bag at a lesser price.

Again - just my opinion but I think the brew is equally if not more important than the beans. Shit beans will make shit coffee no matter how you brew… but a great brew can make good beans taste really really good.

I haven't had time to experiment much with it but apparently coffee and cigars can pair well together. I've paired light night drunk breakfast motor oil coffee with Marlboros before, but never sober, good coffee with a good cigar. But since I'm not on the sauce these days, it sounds like a fun thing to get into.

Frankly it's hard to find time to get into much of anything with little kids. I get to wash the car every week or two and I get about a round of golf per week. Anything else is just gravy.

I like a nice 100% Kona coffee bean. Costco used to have them at a decent price. Dont buy Kona "blends" as they have very little Kona bean in them. I enjoy making pour over coffees.

Sounds awesome I gotta try Kona. Is that Hawaiian?

I've been also working on perfecting a Manhattan. Gotta get some good cherries now

Finally getting the steering column replaced today (same sticking issue as many others).

But the real story is the progression of loaner cars I've had:

1st time in - 740i

2nd time in - 330i

3rd time in (today) - X1

I think I pissed somebody off!

But the real story is the progression of loaner cars I've had:

1st time in - 740i

2nd time in - 330i

3rd time in (today) - X1

I think I pissed somebody off!
Oh god, X1 is bottom barrel.
Tell me about it!

Given the downward progression, next time in you are looking at a stripped down mini cooper, although I think I would take that over and X1. I honestly don't know what BMW was thinking with the X1.
