Unfortunately, no. After searching through our customer pictures I wasn't able to track down an F30 specifically running the 17x8.5" ET40 setup. It's a pretty niche fitment as most folks run 18" and 19" wheels on this chassis.

F30 335i 2014 m sport. All stock suspension. Ordered Goodyear super car 3 245/40/18 for my Apex arc-8 9 x18. Et 30, which is the suggested size. Local reputable tire shop did a test fit and said it would be less than .25" to strut and thinks it may rub. Tire guy said said no refunds once he puts tire on.

Thoughts anyone?

Pretty sure you are right. Wasn't willing to risk the no money back policy, so I did a slightly less aggressive tire. Next I'll go to discount tire so I can try risk free.

I am running that exact set up and lowered on Dinan springs without a single problem. I previously had 255/40-18 and had a slight rub on passenger side rear on compression but since I changed to 245/40-18 I haven't had a problem.

What tire model did you have on the 255 and what tire for the 245?...Wonder if a 255-35 would have cleared with no rub?

I had Michelin PSAS3 for the 255/40 and Michelin PSAS4 for the 245/40. Maybe the 255/35 would have worked? I'm not sure. I wanted a bit more sidewall and also like the look of the 245/40 better than the 255/40.

Need some help with figment.

So I’m looking into buying a set of Arc-8s.. I’m not really sure what to pick out. I’m looking for a fairly aggressive setup.

I’ve got a 2013 F30 335i. I’d also like to keep the stock suspension. I guess my first question is what the best offset for front vs rear setups? I’d like to have 18”x9” in the front and 18”x9.5” in the rear. But the offset is what I’m concerned about. I really like the concave look.

ECS Tuning has sets, but I’m open to ordering from Apex direct pending the shipping availability. Here is what ECS has in stock: Name: E8C31D20-A785-4E1B-81B2-3694B36CE2D1.jpg

The guide linked above is the resource you need to consult with regards to wheel sizing and the offset and tire recommendations.

My only other note would be that some of the ECS Tuning Product Pages shown in that image above are slightly misleading as our 18x8.5 ET38 ARC-8s are a flat faced wheel. There are a bunch of resources on this thread and our guide covering 18x9 ET30 square and the staggered 18x9 ET30 front and 18x9.5 ET35 rear fitments.

Expert@ApexRaceParts Do you have any pics or thoughts about a staggered 19x8.5 front and 19x9 rear in either SM-10 or ARC-8?
I don't see this exact fitment in your fitment guide so I thought I'd ask. I don't want to get too aggressive with my fitment as I'm lowered and using F80 control arms which push the front wheel forward in the wheel well, so I'm afraid I could have some clearance issues if I get too aggressive. I like the idea of having the taller sidewalls on my front tires as well. I'm on stock 225/40-19 and 255/35-19 tires on 403M wheels currently.

Hi there,

While we don't have any pics of that specific setup on the F3X chassis (due to it being a bit less popular compared to some of our other direct-fitments), it can technically work without any issues.

With a 19x8.5" ET35 front and a 19x9" ET28 or ET30 (depending on wheel design) rear, you can run your OEM 225/40-19 front and 255/35-19 rear tires as a complete direct fit.

435i on 19" Forged VS-5RS

While we recently showcased a red F32 on stock suspension, we wanted to see what the same 19” VS-5RS wheels would look like on a lowered car. Luckily Adrian stepped up with his 435i and volunteered to help showcase our wheels on his fully blacked-out car. We're loving the contrast our wheels bring to this heavily modified full bolt-on car.

Specifications

Wheels & Tires:
APEX VS-5RS in Brushed Clear
Front & Rear: 19x9 ET30 with 245/35-19 Michelin PS4S

Additional Notes:
BC Racing Coilovers

Please excuse the poor quality. I took this from the Uber pulling up to pick up my car from the tint place this afternoon. I think it is an awesome angle. No rubbing BTW

How well-protected is the rim of either the arc8 or ec7 wheels in 18x8.5 and 18x9, with MSPS4s in 245/40 or 255/40? (stock F31 330xi with EDC, so I know that the 255/40 is iffy for fit, but don't know if the MSPS4S is one of the "chunky" tires, or if that's more about tires like the RE71RS, Rivals, etc. which appear to be a good 1/4" wider or so.

I have to parallel park, and the stock wheels and 225/45-18s have gathered a lot of light curb rash.

I prefer running a wider tire to get better protection, and a meatier look (as I don't care for the stretched look).

It sounds like 18x8.5 and the 245/40 is the way to go (square setup), or even 255/40 (which is a near-perfect match for diameter with the existing tires). 255 adds 1cm in tire width, and 1.2cm in wheel width, so maybe 1mm less protection from the sidewall, at least in theory.

But does the different profile of 9" and 8.5" wheels change this?
