Really? I was looking at 335's back in September and they had tons of them available to drive home that day. (albeit mostly sedans, but quite a few coupes too)

I ended up not doing one when I discovered the 135 was coming...

The only coupe they had was an auto and it was a demo model. They had two 335 coupe in the delivery bay that had been pre-ordered. They had sedans available on the lot. I did go to 2 local BMW dealers and got the same story from them both. If they could have gotten me one quickly I would have expected them to try and sell me on the 335.

If you press them enough on the 335i coupe, they will give you between 4-5%. 5% is tough to get, but achievable. What I've done before is printed out deals that other Canadians on e90post were getting and took the printout to the dealership in question. Tell them that if you don't get what you're looking for, you'll go to the dealership and sales person that your forum buddy went to. Works like a charm most of the time.

The 335i coupes are in decent demand, but nowhere near the demand that caused the backlog in late 2006 and much of 2007. Don't let the stealerships bs you on how difficult it is to get a 335i coupe. When you get a 4-5% discount off MSRP and then get a 4.9% lease rate on a 335i, you'll see that the difference in total price between a 0% discount 135i with a sickening 7.75% rate will be negligible. In my case, it would have been lower because of my 3.9%.

6.75% isn't bad for financing, I was expecting 6.9%. Its obviously not great, but it doesn't surprise me.

I'm sure you could do better financing it elsewhere...try ING bank.

AAA loan rate is 4.99% for a 5 yr loan. For $40k, that equals $754/mo (with no down payment). I bet that payment is close to the price for leasing.. and you actually own it afterwards. (I wouldn't recommend it but...) a 6 year loan is $644/mo, with nothing down.

If you put down $3000 (like you probably would do on a lease anyway), your payment would come down to $698/mo. Make that same down payment on a 6 year car loan, and the payments would be $595/mo.

I know this is in the Canada forum, but there's are cheaper options than BMW financing...

Thanks for the info and I think that's a point some people might be forgetting about, there are other finance options available. Now I know people leasing usually do it for business reasons and for them, there's just not much help.
