BMW M Performance Parts Officially Announced for G30 5 Series

Diffuser is not bad at all.. I have also to agree with some of the comments, it's just too busy and stripes on a 5 serie ?!

Off topic but really wish that BMW was offering the option to config the car with M performance parts or black trims ... like Audi or Merc

My personal biggest gripe with this is the gigantic kidney grills. It just looks so disproportionate, especially in the head-on front picture.

Do I think all the stickers and "performance" badging is attractive? Not at all. But this car I'm sure is beautiful in person with a few of the subtle changes, like the grille and diffuser. If you don't want those boxes checked, then don't check those boxes. No one is forcing an M sport M performance down your throat.

Exactly, I'm glad they offer a wide range of looks for the g30, from Luxury line to M-sport and now M-performance.

Luckily you don't have to get all the m performance parts.

I've seen the car in Bluestone metallic and M-sport in the flesh, and those pics doesn't really do it justice.

It looks clear to me that the black grilles are only going to look right on a dark car.... carbon black here I come!

No, this is not the M550i. It's M performance parts that you can buy for any g30 M sport, so it will not come like that from the factory.

Upgrades in power and some body parts are worthwhile but some of the cosmetic stuff is just plain cheap.

BMW is harping about luxury then it need to be cautious not offer stickers and plastic bits on a car in this segment. Someone said hatchback like looks... he is right! The strikers and OTT decorative details belong to Mini not the 5er.

I think MB won this one... the E43 AMG looks mature whereas this 5'erl ooks straight outta Hot Import Nights, circa 2003.

Base model, however, I give the 5 an edge though.

This it not the M550i that will be compatible to the E43 AMG. It's just stand alone parts you can fit to your M sport G30.

Do MB even have parts like this that can be fitted to their cars?

Nah, looking at german prices, the 540i xDrive is 60.300,- Euros, while the E43 AMG 4matic is 75.089,- Euros. The M550i is 82.700,-.

So looks like the E43 will be between the 540i and the M550i. And that is quite logical since the E43 power (401 PS) also is between the 540i (340 PS) and the M550i with 462 PS.

There is no E550 or E500. They were discontinued when the W212 was discontinued

The E43 will eventually be replaced with an E55 using Mercedes new inline 6.

The gap between E43 and E63 is too big.
They will release a new 4.0 V8 Biturbo for the LCI S 550 and I doubt they will not use it in the E Class.
S 6 uses a 4.0 V8 too.
