You can set the car to keep the 'comfort' display even when the car is in sport mode via the menu in the car; you don't need to code that.
Can you set the car to keep the 'SPORT' display even when the car is in "CONFORT" mode? My wife likes to see the Speed in digits

I coded mine to default to Sport-individual. That way you can have the nice sporty displays as well as set the actual mode to your liking.
You can set everything to comfort if you want, in Sport-individual.

You can code this in basic mode if you have one of these two ODB adapters. It's very easy to do.

That's right you need one of those adapters. I have UniCarScan and it took about a week to get it from Germany. The rest is pretty simply I must say. If you don't like what you did, you can change it back.

I would stay away from the expert mode, unless you know what you doing. I kind of liked the Rolls Royce sounds and they are used to be in the basic mode. You can find them now in the expert mode only headunit -> SOUND_SIGNAL_SET. Apparently, does not work on all cars, but works fine on my 2018 m550.

Same here. I ordered my CarUniScan from ScanDirect in Germany on a Sunday and got it on Friday for about $72 all-in.

I actually decided to do this tonight. I have had it set to adaptive mode by default, but I like the sport display too much in Alpina mode!

Is the warranty voided if you use Bimmercode? I'm afraid of that...
