Did you look into how difficult it was to wire this into the cars CAN network with coding? It looked like three wires and some VO coding. The rear module should be in the trunk just need a junk yard to send the entire harness, get the button by the driver's seat, code it and this should work unless I missing something.
It was my understanding that this would require a specific BDC (one that was built with the option for the sunblinds from factory) that has a relay purposely included for the control of the rear electric roller sunblind and that just wiring it and coding would be insufficient.

See this thread here where it was discussed that a new BDC would be required,
https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=70478

I would love for this to not be the case, and have already bought the proper driver’s door panel switch with the correct button. Currently I am using a remote controlled relay switch that operates my sunblind and it is powered by a fuse tap at the rear of the car. I am quite interested in how well your wiring will go, and if you are successful, I would love to follow suit.

I truly hope you are correct and that the rear electric roller sunblind can just be simply wired to the BDC and coded, that would be fantastic. Good luck with your wiring, I’m excited to see if this will work out.

Cheers

Hey, sorry for the long delay. I did eventually install these door panels in my car. I bought new replacement darker trim and installed them in the door panels I purchased from eBay. I then installed the updated eBay panels with the correct darker trim in my car.

Keep searching eBay, it took me a few months to come across the set I found.

Good luck

I saw a shop in Lithuania has the exact BDC connector, but it would take a month to arrive. I'm hoping what I've got on order will work. The connectors should be fairly standard. .75mm should be around 18 gauge wire here in the US. See pics of what I've ordered.

The sunshade part number is 8377070
The BDC connector is 9387121

I was able to find a similar connector from a mini Cooper as I just need the terminals. Hardest part is going to be disassembly of interior and the BDC connector.
It was my understanding that the sunblind is wired directly to the BDC and not into the HKFM.

I think this diagram may be out of date or inaccurate, from what I understand the rear electric roller sunblind is wired directly to the BDC.

I’ve attached some PDF wiring documents from ISTA that I came across in my research. The rear electric roller sunblind is labeled M57 in some of the wiring documents. Hopefully these may be helpful to you.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. The attached info looks like it is for the older pre 07/2020 BDC. I'm hoping something was changed if it needed a relay previously and now does not. I don't see any references to a relay in anything you attached. The forum link you sent could also be using old diagrams for the pre-07/2020 vehicles. I did see a connection to the HKFM and power rear blinds which we never got being mentioned on one of the as well.

I guess I can look at the BDC and see if there's even pins present in slots 1 & 2 on that connector. Maybe that is what they meant. The BDC has an internal relay and those pins won't even be there for the connector.

I checked the partnumbers for the BDC and there is no mentioning of any option codes. Like for the door switch it mention the S416A for roller blind equipped cars but for the BDC not a single code. Thats why I think they would all be correct and only needed coding because a new BDC is the last thing you want to change on the car.\

On the otherhand I retrofitted headlamp washers on my car and I only had to code the BDC to activate the Headlamp washer Pump.

I got the parcel shelf and connector for the motor side in the mail. Was an 18 gauge and 22 gauge wire. Swapped an 18 gauge over from the BDC connector I bought and now both are 18 gauge. For future readers, the copper wire itself minus insulation should measure about 1mm in diameter using calipers. I wouldn't use thinner wire for this.

I agree with Yetello that I don't see anything regarding a relay, or different part numbers for the BDC depending on option code. If the pins are present it should just work. It could have been that other forum poster had an early model or a poverty spec g30 which did not have something in the BDC for it. It looks like the part numbers used on a 2017 525i and a 2021 m550 do not share any part numbers. They are separate lineages it seems from 2017 to 2023. I'm still going to give this a shot and worst case I'm out a few bucks and time for the switch and will have to wire it like others have done to a switch Best case it works like factory cars.
