Hello all. I have a similar question as iceskating_uphill.

I bought a 2018 G30 last year. My ConnectedDrive expired and I have been trying figure out how to activate Carplay. I have BimmerCode but I cannot use with my current iDrive version (NBT evo_Pxxxxx). I contacted BimmerCoide support and they mentioned I need to have pay BMW for Carplay.

I am not adverse to paying the 300 one time charge but it is annoying that neither work without cost (ConnectedDrive is 120/yr or 300 for Carplay).

I have wifi and everything else but also did not see the preparation stuff. I do see it as something I can add in connected drive so what is the answer?

Is that via Connected Drive or through you? Main goal would be to not lose the feature if a SW update is done by the dealer in the future.

I just paid $60 to Bimmer Remote and added Carplay with full screen along with lifetime activation in case dealer ever wipes anything out. Easy process and works no issues.

Hi,

Having the same issue as others. I have a 2018 G30 with no CarPlay option on the idrive or on the ConnectedDrive app/store. No idea if I have enhanced Bluetooth or Wi-Fi (I can play music from Spotify via Bluetooth so assuming that’s the enhanced Bluetooth, but don’t know for sure). Is this something that can be remotely coded to work?
